The Religion Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Religious con man Jim Bakker slithers out and takes a break from selling doomsday food buckets to show fealty to trump. What a dumbass.

I wonder what Jim thinks about Devil Horns in the Persian Gulf. It looks like something he could run with

I don't know.....if Jim were to see those devil horns my guess is he'd crawl under a couch and assume the fetal position and start crying like a baby until they drag him outside; just like before.

Much like moses descending the mountain with the tablets he carved, I seriously doubt Jim and his wallet believe his own crap.

I wonder how things would have turned out if Moses had tripped, fallen, and had the stone tablets break into small gravel on his way down. :wtf:

That happened with the original long form. The carving took way too much time and the people forgot how how bad-ass moses could be when he was pissed.

He reduced the 2nd carving to 2 pages and 10 Rules of Subjugation To Live By

This was followed by the lesser known 10 Rules of Genocide, Marauding, Capturing Slaves, Stealing, Murdering and Stealing Land.

Interesting that the first 10 are well known as words while missing from historical deeds, but the document outlining the second 10 is nowhere to be found but can be found precisely implimented step by step throughout actual historical events.

Wow, thanks.
... This type of mirage over the ocean is called Fata Morgana and occurs when rays of light are bent when they pass through air layers of different temperatures.

It is named after the Arthurian sorceress Morgan le Fay because it was once believed the mirages they were fairy castle created by her witchcraft to lure sailors to their death....

"It soon took the form of a crescent, with the so-called ‘Etruscan vase’ inferior mirage effect visible. "Due to its shape, the phenomenon was nicknamed the ‘evil sunrise.'” ...
Given the Qatar locale and the eventual crescent, Jim Bakker would probably find some Islamo-bigoted message in the phenomenon.

"Devil Horns"?

Maybe not much different. Religiosity has a way of wrapping any undeniable physical event into its dogma. Instead of tablet monuments, we might be fighting over these in front of courthouses:

A difference? Beats me. But there's lots of Arabian or Indian guys who bear striking resemblance to the traditional stylized Western version of Jesus, down to the long hair, beard, robes, and sandals. I think these guys should take advantage of this. They have a lot of potential followers here in the US "Christian" fundamentalist and evangelical crowd. Hell, a convincing looking foreign Jesus slinking along with trump on the campaign trail would give the gullible cult and other fools an act they'd be gushing over, unable to maintain, pissing their pants. Hell, they'd never get over it. On top of it all, the fake Jesus as well as any Associate Jesuses stand to make lots of Republican gullible, stupid, wrong headed, corrupt money on a gig like that; unless trump steals Jesus' money for himself. It could go either way.

:D

I'll have to disagree. I think any Jesus-looking dude at an impeached 45SHOLE rally, including Jesus himself, would be beat up by Trumpettes and then shot by the Secret Service.

Nah, just think of it, hominy. trump brings New Jesus out and introduces him and they embrace in front of the crowd; hell, they'd all go fucking crazy. Any nutjob or supply side Jesus trump brought out would be immediately and totally adored by the entire cult; they'd never in hell think of beating his ass or throwing him out. I see the Jesus glass half full with the potential of enormous uncontrollable overflow.

Funny you should mention it. I'm not sure that this ad hurts impeached 45SHOLE among evangelicals.

The MAGA Church
I figure the ad George and his friends put out will serve to make trump intensify his messianic efforts with the gullible and the stupid. Hell, once they think they REALLY have god on their side they will be even more grotesque. I sense that a lot of them don't really think or at least have their doubts about god being on their side but once they've been convinced, they will be even more stupid and dangerous if that's possible.

Was watching an old Bonanza tv show this afternoon and at a commercial break, that treacherous pseudo religious bastard Robert Jrffress came on again...I posted the other day about his latest doom and gloom bullshit. Anyway, this time I watched the whole sordid ad, and the theme of his latest scam is "Perfect Ending" when he's talking about the "end times" and flails and squawks in efforts to drum up money. This fucker's own guilt is so heavy he's projecting it onto others and praying for the end of the world and the relief of his own wretched guilt. With any luck he will kill himself or something will fall out of the sky and kill him. Prayer answered.

Republican apologizes for saying Democrats are 'in love with terrorists' (while sleazily justifying it)

Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA), an admitted “false witness” Commandment-level sinful pastor, and POSPOTUS are "in love with" the Saudi terrorists carrying out genocide in Yemen and murdering a US journalist.

Yeah, I think the fundies might look at that disgusting display captured in the ad and stand up and cheer for more.

Not that I side with child abusers in any way, but I'm not so sure you're correct. It depends on the applicability of the “priest-penitent” privilege, whether mandatory reporting for pharmacists overrides it, whether there was a likelihood of further crimes which does override the “priest-penitent” privilege, and whether these issues were raised and settled when the husband plead guilty. She's not trying to free the asshole, she's trying to hold the church accountable for its alleged duties to parishioners.
