So why did UNC dump Davis? One doesn't have to listen to the corporate-speak of Cunningham, et. al. Once again, Sabrina has explained it in one sentence: "Heartbreak is one thing, ego's another - don't embarrass me motherfucker"

Phew!
Knicks vs. Spurs score: Jalen Brunson leads late charge as New York steals NBA Finals Game 1
The Knicks trailed by as many as 14 points in the second half, but stormed back to take Game 1 in San Antonio

The New York Knicks have a 1-0 lead in the 2026 NBA Finals. Led by star guard Jalen Brunson, the Knicks used a late surge to upset the San Antonio Spurs, 105-95, for their 12th consecutive win in these playoffs. New York trailed by as many as 14 points in the third quarter and was down by one with two minutes left when Brunson hit a corner 3-pointer to give the Knicks the lead for good. Brunson scored 13 of his 30 points in the fourth quarter.

Victor Wembanyama had 26 points and 12 rebounds in his NBA Finals debut, but the Spurs star was just 6 for 21 from the floor.

The Knicks have stolen home-court advantage from the Spurs and are now three wins away from their first title since 1973.

Updated NBA Finals Ticket Prices for Games 3, 4 at MSG After Knicks Take 2-0 Series Lead vs. Spurs

:o
... The Knicks now move back home to Madison Square Garden with a chance to sweep the Spurs and win their first NBA championship since 1973.

... Knicks fans are starving for a championship. Their team hadn't even made the NBA Finals since 1999, and that was a quick edit after a 4-1 loss to the Spurs in the championship round.

Many Knicks fans weren't even born or too young to remember that series, or the 1994 NBA Finals appearance against the Houston Rockets (4-3 loss)....
Patrick Ewing 1985–2000.

How many remember 1973?

'L' is for Loyalty.
Elmo learns a life lesson about what happens when you go against Knicks fans in the NBA Finals
The lovable "Sesame Street" character didn't realize his well-meaning message would not go over well in New York

... "Sesame Street" originally was taped in Manhattan before moving to Queens in the early 1990s. Elmo was "born" on Feb. 3, 1980, which means he was around for Patrick Ewing, Anthony Mason, Charles Oakley and the franchise's rise featuring two NBA Finals appearances in 1994 and 1999.

Knicks fans saw Elmo's well-meaning post and rightly took offense at one of their own failing to pledge his allegiance.

"This isn't the time for sportsmanship Elmo. These streets ain't sesame," was one response. "PICK A SIDE COWARD," he was told. "Now is not the time for fence riding Elmo. Know your place," said another X user....

:---P
Elmo's "Sesame Street" friends know he's in the wrong, seeing as how none of them have come to his defense.

Big Bird? He's not singing. Cookie Monster? He's busy eating cookies like Mikal Bridges has been hitting shots. The Count? He's counting down the number of games the Knicks have left to win in the series, which is two, by the way....

The damage had already been done. New Yorkers and Knicks fans may forgive, but they never forget.

Much to the chagrin of Elmo's original message, through two games, only one team was having fun — the Knicks, who won Games 1 and 2 in San Antonio and return home to Madison Square Garden for Monday's Game 3.

Mamdani will also be there, having survived his first 5 months without scandal or major faux pas. The contrasting receptions should be great orrr . . . TACO!

I actually feel bad for Knick fans, they are some of the most rabid in sports and are starving for a title.

At least it's not a potential series winning game.

These people have been waiting an hour to get into Madison Square Garden.

Here is a first person account:

“They routed everyone down to 34th and 8th.

Police barracade.

Through metal detectors to a point about 200 feet from MSG.

Then they came and apologized and said they were confused and instead we needed to exit the barracade and go to 34th and 7th.

We walked there and then a different set of police told us to go to 32nd and 6th.

There are hundreds, if not a thousand people, wandering around in giant herds not knowing where to go or how to get in.

The police keep saying they don’t know the protocol.”

Understatement, especially if fans miss tip off.

She's not necessarily wrong.

The Knicks were tight (maybe DonOld related, maybe the moment was too big? I expect much better tonight).

The Spurs were physical and brutal and the refs appeared to be sleeping on Spurs fouls but not the Knicks fouls.
