Well, she's got a point, but can you imagine the chaos if, for example, Jimmy Jones did that? There's a reason you pay coaches so much and it's not so you can "help" them do their jobs or second-guess them live.

NFL Suspends Justin Tucker For First 10 Weeks Of Season For Violating Personal Conduct Policy
Tucker was accused of inappropriate sexual behavior by massage therapists.

FAFO. I can't say whether 10 weeks is appropriate, but I'm glad he gets some punishment. Still sad, the Ravens will miss him and it may hurt the lock he had on the HoF.

It's tough to be a Browns fan.

Assignment: "The Browns plain orange helmet is the dullest most boring helmet in the league. But just in case any of the other teams try to get a worse one than ours, let's come up with an idea that is not only dull and boring, but also ugly. And since our sponsor is Dude Wipes, maybe a turd brown color would be good."

No big deal to me if a team in a city once known as the "Mistake on the Lake" names it team Browns or makes ugly uniform choices (or ugly player choices for that matter), but one has to wonder how the discussion of those things go. "Well, guys, we're still the only team with no logo on our helmets, let's make sure we keep it that way."

Chain measurements for 1st down are out. It will be done virtually now, like tennis line calls. Virtual will take less time, but I think I'll miss the irl drama. The chain gang will remain on the sideline as a backup - Maytag repairpersons.

Will the spotting of the ball also be done virtually or is that still up to the refs?

Yeah, had to loom that one up.
The song "Unc Still Got It" by Tre Williams is an upbeat track where the artist asserts his continued charisma and appeal despite his age. He boasts about still being able to attract women half his age

"Uncle still got it" makes much more sense than "UNC" still got it, which would seem to imply that UNC once had it.

:D :violin:

The caption in the Kaaron post that started this tangent confused me with "UNC still got it". Almost all of the download services and YT song versions are the accurate "Unc still got it".

Browns really know how to pick 'em. Manziel, Watson, et. al.
Baker Mayfield is working out well . . . for Tampa Bay. :)

Stuffed roster:

40 year old Indy refugee Joe Flacco. Use him until age or injury forces retirement?
Draftee Dillon Gabriel. Incredible college career, incredible 2024 with the Ducks.
Philly refugee Kenny Pickett.
Draftee Shedeur Sanders. Talk him up and then trade him?
So-so Deshaun Watson. Will he ever have a breakout year? Too damaged to trade?
Shedeur Sanders has Browns edging into real QB drama after solid exhibition showing vs. Panthers (video highlights)

... And the outcome was solidly impressive for exhibition work, even from the most conservative of vantages: 14-of-23 passing for 138 yards and two touchdown passes, with two sacks and zero turnovers in nearly three quarters against the Carolina Panthers....
Good on him.

So Seahawks played the Swifties tonight and, despite being somewhat fair-weather Swiftie fans we put on our "12" shirts and rooted for the 'Hawks. Good thing, too. Swifties absolutely sucked. Didn't even bother to start anybody we'd heard of except Pacheko and the defence was non-existent. If that's representative of what they'll be like, Taylor might as well stay home and Travis should have retired.

Seahawks looking good, though.

Pre-season, certainly. But I'm not the only one to say that "you don't want Drew Lock and a bunch of reserves to run all over your defense whether it's the second team or not."

Anyway, other than CFL, it's the only football we've got so we might as well make the best of it.
