Yeah, except that you can. It happens all the time. Happened at least twice yesterday down here in Spring Break Land. They don't put "Being Stupid" on the charge documents, of course, but it's fundamental stupidity that results in some actual infraction. Most of those are actually way less "stupid" than not properly clearing a firearm and pointing it away from people.

Misleading? I lived out West for 30 years and I know what instate hunters think of out of state hunters. CO has a huge tourist economy, the impact will likely be negligible except for isolated businesses. You folks are free to snit all you want, most Coloradans won't miss you a bit.

Yes, misleading. Your article does not mention what Colorado resident hunters think of non resident hunters at all. It is directed at the potential economic impact for the most part but it is still a good read. You are correct the impact to the entire state may be minimal. As long as Vale, Aspen, Copper, Breckenridge and all the other ski towns stay open the state's tourism will not suffer. However, individual towns like Newcastle, and Meeker will suffer on the local level if out of state hunters go elsewhere.

Probably so, but don't other events/changes cause some locations or businesses to suffer and some to prosper? Building the interstates wiped out a lot of roadside businesses. Sad, but that doesn't mean it was a bad decision to build the road.

They apparently bought all the weapons legally, along with the ammunition. They were apparently keeping it all legally. The police had no grounds to search their premises, and couldn't have done anything about their arsenal if they had. Even if everybody who knew Lanza thought he was a nut case, there is no provision to do anything with or about him. If he actually threatened no one, nor violated any law, there apparently wasn't anything anybody could have done to prevent his rampage. Just a regular ol' law-abiding NRA member who wants a bunch of "sporting" weapons just because he can, and whose "rights" to do so far outweigh the overall interests of the community and the hazards endured by the community.

The searches showed that Lanza had many weapons besides the AR-15-type assault rifle and two handguns used in the December 14 attack...

The court papers said police searching the Lanza home found an Enfield Albian bolt-action rifle, a Savage Mark II rifle, a revolver...

The search also turned up a Saiga 12 shotgun and two magazines containing 70 rounds of ammunition in the car Lanza drove to the school.
