Good Germans. Forgive them for they know not what they do. Hilarious.
Sometimes, it's not so funny.

Even among Texans, bigot Abbott is especially deplorable.
Mayor of Texas border city calls on governor to reconsider federal proposal to fund COVID testing for migrants

Texas' Republican Governor Greg Abbott has rejected a proposal from the Biden administration that would reimburse local officials for offering coronavirus testing and shelter to migrants as they await their immigration hearings....

Covid-denying Tanzanian President Magufuli reported to have flown to Kenya for coronavirus treatment

... Mr Magufuli, who has regularly denied that coronavirus is present in Tanzania and recommended herbal remedies over masks despite pleas from doctors and religious leaders, was last seen in public on Feb 24 in Dar es Salaam.

On Wednesday, Kenya’s daily newspaper, The Nation, quoted unnamed sources saying that "the leader of an African country who has not appeared in public for nearly two weeks" was on a ventilator in Nairobi with Covid-19.

Nairobi staff at the International Crisis Group said Mr Magufuli and “most of his family” were being treated at Nairobi Hospital. Western diplomats told The Telegraph that they had also heard Mr Magufuli was in hospital abroad with coronavirus.

Commenting on the reports, Ugandan journalist and commentator, Charles Onyango Obbo, tweeted: “He gets to fly to a Nairobi hospital, while those who listened to him stay home inhaling eucalyptus steam & hanging on to prayers."

... President Magufuli declared the East African country free of the disease last year and officially stopped registering the number of cases and deaths from coronavirus in May 2020. At the time, the country had registered 509 cases and 21 deaths.

Opposition politicians and activists have accused the government of a coverup and said it is not taking the pandemic seriously enough.

Last month, he said that Tanzania has “managed to defeat these respiratory diseases through prayer last year. I am sure we will do so this year.”

The government has also rejected mask wearing, social distancing and vaccines against the advice of the World Health Organization, encouraging the use of herbal remedies such as steam inhalation and lemon and ginger teas instead.

“Tanzanians must be mindful so that we are not used for trials of some doubtful vaccinations which can have serious repercussions on our health,” the leader has told local media.

WHO director Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said the situation in Tanzania is “very concerning.” ...
Opps.

To be fair, the eucalyptus steam, lemon and ginger teas, and even the prayers are better in Kenya.

Rangers will allow fans at 100 percent capacity on opening day

We know that Texas Governor Greg Abbott is a murderous idiot and it's no surprise that Rangers management also is, but why is MLB authorizing this?

So anti-mask, ignore covid, and now anti-trans bill supporter Governor Reeves of Mississippi can't be all that inherently stupid. He held jobs before politics that required a pretty smart and educated person. So you have to wonder what happened - and did it affect his looks, too, or did he also look like he was an idiot wandering around looking for his village

After Millsaps, Reeves pursued a career in banking and finance in Jackson, where he became assistant vice president for AmSouth, formerly the Deposit Guaranty National Bank, and served as a senior investment analyst.[13] In 2000, Reeves became an investment officer for Trustmark National Bank in Jackson.

Reeves holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society of Mississippi and the CFA Institute, an investment industry organization. In 1996, he was the recipient of the Mississippi Society of Financial Analysts Award.

Maybe I'm a covidiot, but one of the most annoying, dumbest ass measures taken are things like public restrooms being closed, but tons of other stuff like bars etc open. Seems like if stuff is open like indoor dining and so forth, public restrooms should remain open.

Plus what do homeless folks do?

They closed public restrooms early on when everybody thought if you touched anything anybody else had touched, you're gonna die. And when they found that theoretically, in controlled conditions, some virus might be tossed up from a toilet flush. Now that most of that has been put in perspective, I think it's just because some of them are tightly enclosed places with inadequate ventilation. That generally doesn't apply to restrooms in parks, etc. that are drafty with open doors to start with, so they're open. At least around here. But yeah, if you're gonna open a bar, you might as well open everything else since bars have been conclusively shown to be among the biggest petri dishes.

US prison guards refusing vaccine despite COVID-19 outbreaks

... Part of the resistance to the vaccine is widespread misinformation among correctional staff, said Brian Dawe, a former correctional officer and national director of One Voice United, a policy and advocacy group for officers. A majority of people in law enforcement lean right, Dawe said. “They get a lot of their information from the right-wing media outlets,” he said. “A lot of them believe you don’t have to wear masks. That it’s like the flu.” National polls have shown that Republicans without college degrees are the most resistant to the vaccine.

Several correctional officers in Florida, speaking on the condition of anonymity because they are not permitted to talk to the press, said many of their colleagues believe that the vaccine could give them the virus. Some have latched onto debunked conspiracy theories circulating on social media, the officers said, believing the vaccine contains tracking devices produced by former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates, who has donated to coronavirus treatment research. (The vaccine does not contain tracking devices.) ...
Should be mandatory. If not, infected anti-vaxxers should be denied any workers' comp, paid sick leave or other considerations.

So recent polling says 95ish percent of Dems want the vaccine, but 47 or so percent of RepuQ males do not. That leaves us with a very plausible possibility that by year-end only RepuQs will get covid. Life is good.
