More details, and what Dolt .45, other Repug pols, and con doctors, scientists and religious leaders can do about it . . . if they have the will. Dead Repugs are good Repugs, but we and our economy still need them to do the right thing, instead.
Poll: 50% of unvaccinated Trump voters say they will 'never' get inoculated for COVID. How Biden hopes to change their minds.
Months late, but it's a start:
Trump says the COVID vaccine 'works incredibly well' and recommends his supporters get it
Now, about masks and social distancing?

If they really wanted to, the federal and state governments could make refusing a vaccine much more painful.
No vaccine...
No school
No drivers licence
No vehicle registration
No marriage licence
etc.

No way, then they would all move to Florida.

Well, yeah, but that would be a big hill what with the 2nd Amendment and all. We can make fun of the idiots who find it reasonable to (mis) interpret the 2nd as allowing home use of howitzers, but there are some real limitations on what government can do. On the other hand, there is no constitutional right to get a drivers licence or get your kid into a school without jumping through the hoops. Sure, they'd still drive around and hom skul their little hellions and not bother to get married anyway, but life would be much harder on them than to just go get the shot. Maybe it could be not getting into a restaurant or store. Maybe not being able to use a park or rent a car. Whatever. I'd like to have it such that something would happen every day that would make them say "Aw fuck - this is crap. Maybe I should just get vaccinated."

I had to laugh at this one; Idaho legislature battles covid rules as they get sick from it. A true cult.

... All four lawmakers out with the illness are Republicans who rarely or never wear masks....

Back in the old days the waiter would ask if you wanted seating in smoking or non-smoking. My sister used to quip that's like asking for the non-peeing part of the swimming pool. Conservatives don't care about the quality of your air...
Natural selection in progress. The only problem is that a lot of innocent bystanders will die as a result of actions like this.
Republicans are in favor of local control until locals do not toe the Republican line.

Ironic since the vaccines are arguably Dolt .45's greatest success.
I wonder if any lefties are helping to spread vacciphobia among Repugs.

Yep, got my first dose of Pfizer vaccine yesterday morning. Didn't feel a thing but now this morning my arm is a little sore when I raise it up in a certain way but no side effects so far other than that. They made me sit there for fifteen minutes after the shot in case I began to thrash around or have any sort of transformation into some half trump half human test case.

Idaho Legislature shuts down due to COVID-19 outbreak
The Idaho Legislature voted Friday to shut down for several weeks due to an outbreak of COVID-19.
Lawmakers in the House and Senate made the move to recess until April 6 with significant unfinished business, including setting budgets and pushing through a huge income tax cut.
At least six of the 70 House members tested positive for the illness in the last week, and there are fears a highly contagious variant of COVID-19 is in the Statehouse....
Five of those who tested positive are Republicans and one is Democrat. Another Republican lawmaker is self-isolating. The chamber has a super-majority of 58 Republicans, most of whom rarely or never wear masks. All the Democratic lawmakers typically wear masks....
Lawmakers will be paid the per diem rates to cover their normal session-related living expenses during the recess, and secretaries and attachés will also be paid during the break. Bedke characterized it as essentially a long weekend that many will use to catch up on paperwork and other business.
A major goal of GOP lawmakers in the Legislature this session has been curbing the emergency powers of the Republican governor to respond to things like pandemics. Legislators have floated several proposals that would restrict Gov. Brad Little’s ability to make sweeping directives in the future.
The House has also been advancing a bill that would ban local governments from requiring that people wear masks. Little, who wears a mask in public and encourages others to do so, has never issued a statewide mask mandate, but a handful of counties and about a dozen cities currently have such orders in place....
During the recess, the lawmakers are expected to travel home to all parts of the state, potentially spreading the variant of the virus....

She's been whining on Tucker.Michigan restaurant owner in jail for defying virus orders
A western Michigan restaurant owner has been ordered to jail until she pays $7,500 and closes her business
A western Michigan restaurant owner was arrested before dawn Friday and hauled to jail, a dramatic turn in a monthslong dispute over her persistent refusal to comply with orders and restrictions tied to the coronavirus.
Marlena Pavlos-Hackney, 55, will remain in jail until she pays $7,500 and authorities confirm that Marlena’s Bistro and Pizzeria in Holland, Michigan, is closed, a judge said.
“She has put the community at risk. We are in the middle of a pandemic,” Ingham County Judge Rosemarie Aquilina said.
State investigators said Pavlos-Hackney had allowed indoor dining when it was banned, wasn't enforcing mask rules and was ignoring capacity limits. Her food license was suspended Jan. 20, but the business remained open.
A different judge on March 4 declared Pavlos-Hackney in contempt of court and ordered an arrest unless the restaurant was closed.
“You have selfishly not followed the orders. ... This is the wrong way to get publicity," Aquilina said. “It's the wrong way to be a good citizen.” ...
