New Jobless numbers and more BLAME

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Banks didn't need a gun. All they needed was a plan, the money, and the bs and
the gullible to swallow it whole. Bingo.

So you are finally admitting these folks who took out these loans were gullible and swallowed it whole, good. As I said if they didn't know they couldn't pay back the loan they shouldn't own a bicycle. Now they should be held responsible and not expect the few on the top who pay taxes to pay their way.

Tell us how far up on top you are and how much you pay in tax. We'll wait.

It's been mentioned and asked before and answered now search for yourself. So what exactly does what I pay/paid in fed. taxes have to do with people not paying their bills? We'll wait.
I after doing last years taxes was surprised that I made more and paid more in income taxes then in the early 1983.
I will say I have had a few very few loans/mortgages in my life and have never not paid one off even when buried deep in the RED. I didn't run and expect others to pay. How about U?

How about me? I work, pay taxes, pay my mortgage, and enjoy my free Obamaphone and free Obama gas. I love America. If I didn't or coudn't work, didn't pay taxes, and couldn't pay my mortgage, I'd probably kill myself. How about you?

You forgot the other side of the equation--the banks. These folks knew they had a golden
goose, all they had to do was reel in the suckers and get rid of the loans before they came
back to bite them. It was really no contest. No doubt there were some borrowers who
thought they could come out ahead somehow, but I think a lot of them didn't realize
exactly what they were getting into, and the banks likely knew it. They could have used
due diligence and turned down these loans, but that wasn't where the money was, as
Willie Sutton would say.

I doubt the few on the top will pay these folks' way. And in the unlikely event they do,
Judge Judy and Byrd will have it covered.

People who are gullible deserve much of the blame. For example, on the thread about the "conservative entertainment complex" versus the Kool Aid chuggers, Frum blames the "conservative entertainment complex." Many of us think that the gullible Kool Aid chuggers like Soupy Sales and Butt Ugly are more to blame because they are the ones who keep running back to Fox and Rush shouting, "Lie to me again. Lie to me again."

Yeah, Rush tosses stuff out there that's like dangling red meat in front of a hungry lion, but after awhile, you have to stop blaming Lucy and start blaming Charlie Brown for his actions.

No one said that some people who took out loans weren't gullible for believing the professional advice they received. There were probably some scammers in there, too. We're smart enough to see the entire picture, but you, in your intellectual midgetry and ideological stupidity, keep painting everybody with the same brush. You're apparently not smart enough to get close to reality. One brush is apparently all that poor little brain cell can handle.

Can your poor, dysfunctional brain cell ever comprehend that many of the 8 million people who lost their jobs -- through no fault of their own -- in the Great Recession also lost their homes because they couldn't continue to make the mortgage payments.

I'm guessing that you really are too stupid to get that. We'll see.

Golly gee, Bungalow Bill. You mean you actually think the banks and mortgage lenders should be held accountable for their actions in ignoring their own rules and accepting subprime loans?

Surely you jest.

I never could get this site to work for me yesterday, so Defective has been answered, but here's my two-cents worth.

Thorny, your hilltop scanners will get theirs. Sooner or later they'll need something that depends on their credit score. Meanwhile, you may rest easy, knowing that your self-righteousness is it's own reward.
