It's time to upgrade to...Target. It does seem a little neater and not as cluttered as
Walmart. They're both good places to buy basics--towels, undies, toilet paper,
jeans, etc. I remember when I used to shop at Walmart they had a pretty decent
bakery too.

Amazon is great for buying books and CDs. You can get just about anything there,
things that the big box stores rarely have.

You're right, of course, in regard to the historical treatment of employees in the retail industry. But no retailers before Wal-Mart had the clout within the retail industry that Wal-Mart has. Unlike your example of Belk, Wal-Mart eats up other stores and sets the competitive bar for others. It isn't so much that Wal-Mart is doing anything different - it's that they're doing things that cut off alternatives for their "associates."

Don't get me wrong, I despise Walmart, the drugstore chains, the office supply giants, the grocery chains, chain restaurants. All have contributed to the demise of small, local businesses.

My point is, the alternatives for unhappy associates are dwindling for other reasons, too, and the internet plays a huge role. When Blue Cross bullies thousands of State retirees into doing mail order drugs, with Walgreens to fill in the gap if an order is late, I see them, too, as the enemy.

I will spend a few extra bucks to avoid Walmart, but not $300 a month.

You have to be pretty desperate to shop at wallyworld to begin with. It didn't take long for us to realize it's a ghetto store. Over the years and raising many kids it didn't take long to realize that the quality of their merchandise is horrible, kids cloths are the worse. As far as food if you are a coupon clipper Bi-Lo is unbeatable, double coupons and don't harass you when leaving. I tried using coupons at wallyworld once many years ago and more then half were declined for no reason at all. The lines were usually 5-6 deep and their attitude of not liking their job is evident. I will not self check it's a ridiculous concept.
I still don't know why your pants are in a wad. These are entry level jobs at best, don't like it leave.

Please highlight where I trashed one employee? We'll wait? So I insulted one of his big box store, so he is a fan of WallyWorld and that makes him part of the PROBLEM.
