Arkansas cops send malware to whistleblowers' lawyers
An Arkansas lawyer representing ex-cops who blew the whistle on corruption in the Fort Smith Police Department says that when he gave the police brass a blank hard-drive for discovery documents, they returned it laden with sneaky malware, including a password-sniffing keylogger and a backdoor that would let the police department spy on their legal opponents.

Surely just an accident.
People are crazy and times are strange. I'm locked in tight, I'm out of range.
I used to care, but, things have changed.

Where's the outrage? Where's the protestors? Where's the looters?

In several incidents, people are unjustly killed - even outright murdered on camera - by police. And the killers face no real consequences.Mr.B wrote:Where's the outrage? Where's the protestors? Where's the looters?[/size][/u][/b]
An NYPD cop is murdered, and the killer is immediately arrested and charged with first degree murder.
You honestly don't see the difference?

Besides, in a dog bites man type analogy, bad guys are expected to do bad things - like shooting cops. Good guys are not supposed to do bad things - like shooting unarmed kids in parks.rstrong wrote:In several incidents, people are unjustly killed - even outright murdered on camera - by police. Also, I'm more outraged by my employees' bad behavior than I am by someone else's.

Not that I'm morally opposed to violent resistance to oppression, but I don't think those are great examples.
Haiti has been paying for it ever since.
The French Revolution led to greater brutality and the rise of Napoleon Bonaparte.
Both gay and black rights were largely achieved through peaceful protest.

Guy's an Idiot! If you can't figure out that Hot Cofee MIGHT BE HOT they should sue you for impersonating a police officer.Mr.B wrote:Here's an accident....but who's at fault?

I don't think the issue was whether he thought it might be hot... "When he went to pick up the cup, the lawsuit states, the lid popped up and the cup folded in on itself, spilling the hot coffee on Kohr's thigh and groin area."Colonel Taylor wrote:Guy's an Idiot! But from my many experiences at Starbucks, I don't think his story will work. Their cups really aren't particularly weak. I'm guessing when the lid came loose he squeezed it hard trying to hold on. But I wonder how hot the coffee was. I always thought Starbucks coffee was served too hot - much like McDonald's which was intentionally 170 degrees, vs. the 140 most places serve. Spill 140 and it's a bit painful; spill 170 and you get real injuries.
Fun story, though - maybe he'll sue the donut shop next for making him fat with free donuts.

Anybody that can drink that mess from Starbucks and waste that amount of money for a cup of it, is getting burned long before they pick up the cup.

That part of the lawsuit is also hinky. Crohn’s can be aggravated by any stressor, or flareups just happen for no identifiable reason. If his disease was that brittle he shouldn't have been a cop.... Kohr claims the burn aggravated his Crohn’s disease and caused him to have surgery that led to the removal of a portion of his large intestine, the lawsuit states....

Can't stand Starbucks coffee, had it once and it tasted like a dirty ash tray, McD's coffee I kind of like but here in town certain McD's don't clean their pots and you can taste the difference.
