Re: What are you watching?
I was surprised Xander didn't get any votes, as he obviously was surprised also. Probably as you say, the edit implied some different dynamics from the on-site environment. But I'm happy with Erika - she totally deserved to win.
I wondered about the fire-making, though, and why she appeared not to be able to make fire in the practice session. She had clearly said, earlier in the show, that "I made lots of fires..."
Speaking of fires - I don't understand why that's ever even an issue anymore. Is there somebody so foolish that if they had a chance to be selected for "Survivor" wouldn't be out there making fire 10 times a day? While they beef up their conditioning and learn some shelter-building skills?

Re: What are you watching?
Xander got a big edit last night, especially during final tribal where I thought he acquitted himself pretty well. Edited to throw us off or to set us up for Second Chances 2? Probably both.O Really wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 10:56 amI was surprised Xander didn't get any votes, as he obviously was surprised also. Erika said it took her like two hours to make fire on Exile...Xander screwed up by taking her to final.
Deshawn clearly didn't know the teepee technique for building a strong fire and got lucky...

I've been enjoying watching film noir on a local movie channel. The commercials suck, but if I record to DVD I can just fast forward through them.

I was just happy Ricard was booted. He did play a good game, and could be argued as a deserving winner, but he was so obnoxious I just couldn't root for him. But I've rarely supported villains anyway. Except for Parvati.

Re: What are you watching?
Well, whenever I feel like it.
Unlike your vaunted streaming preference, all I have to do is press the pause button on the DVD player remote, and I can go satisfy other needs as I please.
See the point yet?

Yeah, cause you can't hit pause on a streaming show, right?

He was villainous and egotistical when he was teamed up with Shan. Petty as it is, when he got back from a food reward and started eating the camp food with no remorse when called out I knew he really was a complete asshole.

Re: What are you watching?
Can you? I have no idea, never tried it streaming/Roku/etc. If it's possible, then that would be a big plus for streaming. But it would be false to assert that one could not hit pause on a DVD player during playback of a recorded program.GoCubsGo wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 1:32 pmYeah, cause you can't hit pause on a streaming show, right?

I don't watch it but I suppose Whack9 would be a good contestant. Hell, he could probably sift and fry sand in a parrot skull if he had to.

Yes, because 10-year-old technology is generally vastly inferior to 25-year-old technology.

Re: What are you watching?

It's always a hoot when O Really is messing with you and you then make a fool of yourself thinking that you're smarter and patronizing him. Face it, you will NEVER be smarter than O Really.
Of course, unless it's 'live streaming'.
Ummm, you just told us that you streamed the Oakland Hills fire doc:If it's possible, then that would be a big plus for streaming.

And, you've mentioned other things you've watched online. That's streaming and you could pause it, duh.
But it would be false to assert that one could not hit pause on a DVD player during playback of a recorded program.
