Harder than Chinese arithmetic. In general, a stretch cat, or even rumors of a stretch cat, can add or detract something like 10% of the home value. It just depends on your sensibilities.

Former Gov. Pat McCrory, who is running for U.S. Senate, launched a new digital ad this week attempting to tie one of his biggest competitors to one of the most controversial men in North Carolina politics: Rep. Madison Cawthorn.

The ad focuses on war in Ukraine and a riot at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, putting soundbites from Cawthorn side-by-side with those of Rep. Ted Budd, the Trump-endorsed candidate in the Republican primary for Senate. Cawthorn and Budd are scheduled to share a stage with Trump at his rally in Selma on Saturday.

The ad also highlights one of McCrory’s strategies — telling voters McCrory’s their guy if they’re sick of controversial headlines about their elected officials — said Chris Cooper, a political science professor at Western Carolina University.

“He’s clearly trying to present the view that he’s not an extremist,” Cooper said. “That is his electoral lane, and I think that is also who he is.” ...

Not sure if it's Budd, but McCrory haters are running an ad calling him a liberal traitor.

We'll see what the Dem choices are for the May 17 primary, but I'm seriously thinking about voting for Budd and MadCaw in order to boost Dem chances in Nov.

The "amnesty" afforded certain former Confederates was specific to them, not a blanket amnesty for future insurrectionists. I think trump should be banned from running for public office based on his own words and actions that he continues to this day. He's even stated that "the election was the insurrection" and the Capitol riot was not one. He's on video telling them "we love you" and "remember this day forever." What the hell does it take?

I don't know. I don't even know if any of the former Confederates were ever specifically charged or convicted of sedition or if the amendment itself is the "indictment." If it requires the specific use of violence and or weapons in opposition to the existing federal government, it would seem that only the riot participants would be liable but when you consider the fact that none of it would have happened were it not for trump and his incessant lies, the issue gets more complex. After all, the amendment does address "giving aid and comfort" to those who engage in insurrection. So I guess it depends on how persuasive the lawyers can be.

As we approached the 2022 mid terms I would be interested in how everyone's home district is looking.

Here in WNC Madison Cawthorn has several competitors in the GOP primary. I don't believe he will win the primary. My favorite is Chuck Edwards who is currently my state senator. He has proven to be a solid conservative. He is an business owner who has the McDonald's franchise for Henderson County. He should win the general
