And then there's the true national treasure Megan Rapinoe who definitely deserves a raise, whatever she's making now.

Not to mention all 4 US goals* in 2 games now, 1st player to score 4 in a row in US WWC history. She's also the first player to score two or more goals in successive knockout stage games in tournament history.

* 2 on PKs, 1 on a FK. So, she had opportunities that other players didn't. Then again, she had those opportunities because she's that good at scoring on them.

Petition to the U.S. Soccer Federation:

"Pay the U.S. Women's National Team soccer players more or the same amount as the men's team and provide an equal standard of medical care and other benefits."

I don't disagree with the principle, but I'm not sure the same standards of "equal work" applies to sports/entertainment industries in the same way as others.

I signed and shared because this is specific to the U.S. Women's National Team, which has had more success and larger viewership than the men. If this had been about the pro leagues, I wouldn't have signed until learning more about their respective revenue streams.

Report: USWNT players have already made $90,000 in bonuses, but USMNT would have made six times more

Even the coach of the USWNT's next opponent, England, agrees with us.

'I admire Megan Rapinoe' – England coach Phil Neville offers support for USWNT star

... “I admire people who have personality and character,” Neville said Sunday during his pre-match news conference ahead of Tuesday’s match at Olympic Stadium. “I admire people who stand up for what they believe in with strong values.

“So yes, I admire Megan Rapinoe for standing up for what she believes in in terms of a lot of things, the fight for equality, the fight for diversity, inclusion that she obviously fights a lot about and campaigns a lot about.” ...

Woman who gave server generous $5,000 tip allegedly used her boyfriend's credit card for revenge

... Serina Wolfe, 24, allegedly used her boyfriend's credit card without his knowledge after he would not buy her a plane ticket back home to Buffalo, N.Y., Fox 2 Now reports.

Seems that he would want her out of state, or should have.

While Wolfe's boyfriend had initially put a hold on his credit card, so Wolfe would not be able to use it to buy the ticket, he eventually lifted it.

Smart. Does that constitute implied permission to use the card?

Wolfe then allegedly used the card to leave a tip of $5,000 on a bill that cost $55.37, which was reported four days ago by multiple outlets.

It is not known if the server will get to keep the money. The restaurant has already paid out the tip to the server. However, Wolfe's boyfriend marked the charge as fraudulent.

It was previously reported that the server, Ryan, had been going through a tough time, including having to recently put her dog down.

Bummer. The woman scorned giveth, the credit card company taketh away.

When they see you as a strong woman, they think that you do not need anything or anyone, you can bear everything and will overcome whatever happens. That you do not mind being listened to, cared for or pampered.
When they see you as a strong woman, they just look for you to help them carry their crosses. They talk to you and they think you do not need to be heard. A strong woman is not asked if she is tired, suffering or falling, if she has anxiety or fear. The important thing is that she is always there. The strong woman is not forgiven anything. If she loses control, she becomes weak. If she loses her temper, she becomes hysterical.
When the strong woman disappears a minute, it is immediately noticeable, but when she is there, her presence is usual.
But the strength that is needed every day, to be that kind of woman, does not matter to anyone. You go, Ms. Vrede!

Appeals court takes up fresh challenge to Trump abortion 'gag rule'

The full 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Wednesday said it would take up a fresh challenge to the Trump administration's overhaul of the federal family planning program just weeks after three of its Republican-appointed judges said the policy change can take effect nationwide while several legal challenges play out.

The appeals court froze the administration's rule revamping the Title X program while it hears the case, according to Brigitte Amiri, deputy director at the ACLU's Reproductive Freedom Project.

The court's order marks the latest turn in a battle over the administration’s changes to the program, which seek to steer federal dollars away from providers such as Planned Parenthood that offer abortions and abortion referrals. Critics have dubbed the Trump policy a "gag rule."

The order covers several challenges to the rules, but it's unclear whether they will be heard together or separately.

Some major provisions of the overhaul were due to take effect in early May but halted in April by national injunctions ordered by lower federal courts in Oregon and Washington state, as well as a statewide injunction in California, after nearly two dozen states and providers including the American Medical Association and Planned Parenthood sued.

A three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit lifted those injunctions on June 20, finding that the administration will likely prevail in the legal battle since the Supreme Court held up similar Reagan-era rules almost 30 years ago....

I guess the full 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has some doubts about "likely prevail".

This is just a temporary stay to give judges time to consider an array of legal challenges against this cruel policy, could still go either way.

Trump dumping Obama transgender shelter rule to protect women, girls: https://onenewsnow.com/legal-courts/201 ... Zt_mjcchV4 President Donald Trump is fixing a problematic transgender rule devised and implemented under former President Barack Obama that forwarded the LGBT agenda, while putting battered women and girls in shelters at risk of being sexually assaulted by male predators claiming to be female. “It would eliminate an Obama administration rule in 2016 requiring that shelters allow people to enter based on their ‘gender identity,’” WND reported. “The Obama rule turned shelters for the homeless and for abused women into a battleground for the transgender-rights agenda.”

Putting women and kids’ safety above an agenda

Just asking... who's more likely to be assaulted - women and children by a transgender female, or a transgender female by males?

Trump’s Labor Secretary Struck a Deal With a Serial Sex Offender. Democrats Want to Know Why.
Alex Acosta gave Jeffrey Epstein a plea deal to escape a full investigation.

Tell the House of Representatives:
"Alexander Acosta cannot be trusted to enforce our laws. Impeach Acosta now."

My bet - a lot of big money people told him to leave Epstein alone - maybe even a few of his palm beach buds, maybe even the same palm beach guy who paid off the fla attorney general to leave his fake charity alone.

Jeffrey Epstein: Billionaire charged with sex trafficking and abusing girls as young as 14, unsealed indictment reveals

... Mr Trump told New York magazine in 2002 that Mr Epstein was a “terrific guy”.

“He’s a lot of fun to be with,” the president said at the time. “It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.” ...

POSPOTUS is known to have peeped on undressed midteen pageant girls. POSPOTUS has already admitted to knowing what creep Weinstein was doing and saying nothing. No surprise that he was tight with creep Epstein, too. Unlike POSPOTUS, at least Epstein lusted after other people's daughters.

POSPOTUS claims to have had a falling out with Epstein 15 years ago, no contact since. Could be.

Rightwingers say that Bill Clinton flew with Epstein 26 times. Bill says it was 4 times, always with Secret Service and that there's been no contact for a dozen years.
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/pol ... 679345001/
Could be.

Could also be that neither participated in nor knew about Epstein's ugliness.

Besides Epstein, the only person without a legit excuse is Trump’s Labor Secretary, Alexander Acosta. I predict his resignation very soon.

Wives With Knives

Married women who committed stabbing attacks are profiled in this documentary series.

Woman Posts on Facebook Before Allegedly Killing Boyfriend: Don't Let a Man 'Put His Hands on You'

A 24-year-old Florida mom is accused of killing her boyfriend Saturday night – just 20 minutes after allegedly warning her Facebook followers that a woman should never let a man “put his hands on you,” say police.

Shortly after midnight on Sunday, Ja’Quoia XiaXiana Collins was arrested and charged with second-degree murder for allegedly killing her boyfriend, Quartez McShane, the Escambia police department confirms....

He was stabbed in the chest and was found with a one-and-a-half-inch puncture wound in his sternum, the report says ...

At 11:19 p.m., she allegedly wrote, “Ladies, NEVERRRR let a Boy put his hands on You cs a Real MAN ain’t Going for it," ...

In court Monday, McShane’s mother, Samantha Allen, tearfully asked the judge to set bond for Collins, the Pensacola News Journal reports.

“I know Jaquoia and I would like her to have bond, if you don’t mind,” she told the judge. “I know she’s a good mother. I’m hurting, I’m broken. But I know she has kids and I want her to get her affairs in order, for her kids. She has my grandbaby.”

“And I forgive her. And I love her. I don’t know if she intentionally tried to do it. It’s up to you.”

The judge ordered Collins held without bond, saying there was probable cause to believe she committed the crime, the Pensacola News Journal reports....

That's really saying something when the dead guy's mama is asking for bail. A guess based on nothing more than this one article - the case gets pleaded down to where Collins will still have a life.

Just stumbled on his press conference. I thought he was resigning at first and kicked myself for giving him 6 days. He handled himself pretty well in the bit that I watched.

He puts a lot of blame on the Florida state's attorney, idk if it's accurate. He also talks about how 'different things were back then' - victims rights, our understanding for victims, transparency, prosecutorial standards and conduct, etc. Ummm, it was 2007, not 1958.

I could only infer the coming reactions from the reporters' questions, but he MIGHT survive. I'll stick with 7/16, though.

Ok, I'm in the pool but without a towel. I will give Jim July 31 for his resignation. That way he can get one more full paycheck. I try to place myself in the position of the person I disparage and imagine how they would think about the situation. This is generally very difficult for me to do since I don't share the mindset of those I target. But it's kind of fun.

Yeah, hardly even got wet.....I posted it on the "fired/quit" thread not knowing you'd already put it here. I like how trump mentioned, twice, that Acosta is Hispanic; as if that has anything to do with why he resigned or is in any way relevant to that. What a moron we have in trump. Opps! I just now noticed that I called Acosta "Jim" yesterday instead of Alex. Oh, well.
