Still thinking about voting for Obama??

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Yes, Ragin Rebel is a moon-landing denier.
That might, might, be too wingnutty for nutcar88.
Even the birthers think their intelligence is insulted by the moon-landing deniers.

Yep, Dumbya the armchair general with an actual army attacked Iraq. That was a brilliant
move, wasn't it? People in the administration were giving the info that was supplied by
what intelligence had at the time, which was obviously subject to change as more info
became available. It's pretty clear now that the video was a cause of the attack, as some
of the attackers themselves have said. It's not an embarrassment, it was perhaps a mistake,
but people, yes even Americans, make mistakes. The decision was made not to try to go to the
consulate by the professionals, who are better equipped to handle the situation than all the
right wing armchair generals. If something was attempted and led to even more American
deaths than the nutters would have been blaming Obama for that, for being arrogant and
impatient and thinking he knew more than the pros. Heads I win, tails you lose.

Interesting article about how the wingnuts, national and local, are just piling on with unproven
nonsense and trying to turn this into a political thing, no matter what the facts say. Typical.:

You've obviously read it. Just tell us.

Somehow I expact that it'll be yet another claim that Clinton ignored Bin Laden, trying to shift the responsibility away from Bush II.

After the 1998 United States embassy bombings in Africa, Clinton signed a directive authorizing the CIA (and specifically their elite Special Activities Division) to apprehend bin Laden and bring him to the United States to stand trial after the 1998 United States embassy bombings in Africa. If taking bin Laden alive was deemed impossible, then deadly force was authorized.

On August 20, 1998, 66 cruise missiles launched by United States Navy ships in the Arabian Sea struck bin Laden's training camps near Khost in Afghanistan, narrowly missing him by a few hours.

In 1999 the CIA, together with Pakistani military intelligence, had prepared a team of approximately 60 Pakistani commandos to infiltrate Afghanistan to capture or kill bin Laden, but the plan was aborted by the 1999 Pakistani coup d'état.

In 2000, foreign operatives working on behalf of the CIA had fired a rocket-propelled grenade at a convoy of vehicles in which bin Laden was traveling through the mountains of Afghanistan, hitting one of the vehicles but not the one in which bin Laden was in.

In 2000, prior to the September 11 attacks, Paul Bremer characterized the Clinton administration as "correctly focused on bin Laden", while Ambassador Robert Oakley criticized their "obsession with Osama".

So all these attacks came up empty. Sounds like faulty intelligence. Imagine that.

I think Obama is hiding something. The Libya thing smells.

I am going to carry a folding chair and lunch to vote.
Talk to your lunch, vote for the chair.

You still haven't come up with a reason to blame Clinton.

But take your time. I'm sure you've got plenty of problems with blaming Clinton for not catching him without blaming Bush II for the same reasons, and without by the same logic crediting Obama with catching him. Take all the time you need.

Obama’s campaign goes empty and strident

Excerpts.

"Two economic themes of Obama’s campaign have been that outsourcing jobs is sinful and that he saved GM, which assembles 70 percent of its vehicles on lines outside America."

"Speaking of apologies, Syracuse University’s law school should issue one for having graduated Joe Biden."

For you Vred.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed first presented the idea for the September 11 plot to bin Laden in 1996 in Afghanistan

In December 1998, the Director of Central Intelligence Counterterrorist Center reported to the president that Al-Qaeda was preparing for attacks in the USA, including the training of personnel to hijack aircraft.[11]

I'm not running way from anything Vred. I acknowledge that whether it was to late to stop 9/11 or not we will never know but it's pretty obvious that the Clinton Administration shares the part of the responsibility of the eventual event. Clinton had a lot more time than Lil Bush to assess the situation and do something about it.

In the book Looming Towers, in fighting bewteen the FBI and the CIA plus internal in fighting at both agencies was a major factor.
