Congress to Investigate Benghazi 'Talking Points

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

glad to hear that you have finally given up lying about acorn. I'm sure it was hard for you to give in up after using it as often as you did - for years after it was proven a lie

your outrage at the acorn dude soliciting for underage prostitutes from columbia was matched only by breitbarf and faux news - it will be missed

You're the asshat who said that I was "so dumb or in denial with [my] head is so far up [my] a-- can't see a thing."

Now we find out that you once again can't back up anything you say.

I guess that makes you dumb or in denial with your head so far up your ass you can't see a thing.

Thanks for posting the link to that CNN article, as it makes it quite clear that it was the
intelligence community that was responsible for the changes. So where exactly are the
supposed lies by Obama? I already asked that question once and of course didn't get a
reply. At first the nutters were after Rice, then they found out she was just repeating the
CIA talking points, so they went after the talking points, now that's nothing there, maybe
they'll try to find out what kind of ink was used in the talking points.

"The intelligence community - not the White House, State Department or Justice Department -
was responsible for the substantive changes made to the talking points distributed for government
officials who spoke publicly about the attack on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, the spokesman for the
director of national intelligence said Monday."

I watched a little faux today, they are still calling for an investigation, firings, no way rice should be in the government in any capacity and a possible impeachment

This is about all they've got to chew on after Obama's victory. I don't know if he's still on it,
but Dr. Krauthammer thought there might be some connection between Petraeus' affair
and the situation in Benghazi. He was being blackmailed to go along with the WH narrative
or some crazy conspiracy theory.

The only thing Rice was incorrect about was whether or not there was a protest. What's the big deal? That's a small, irrelevant point that the intelligence community redacted from her talking points.

This is what she said:
- Early in the day, there were demonstrations in Cairo inspired by a hateful YouTube video.
- This in turn appeared to have inspired a "copycat" protest in Benghazi.
- That protest was then "hijacked" by extremists, who used it as an excuse to storm the consulate and murder four Americans.

How on earth can McCrank and Greenham blame her for giving the information she was given? Dumbasses.
Kevin Drum wrote:Berating Rice, who had nothing to do with Benghazi aside from representing the administration on these talk shows, is nuts. The intelligence community was wrong about one relatively unimportant fact, and Rice passed along that mistake. That's it. There's no coverup, no conspiracy, no incompetence, no scandal.

Had Susan Rice gone on the talk shows on September 15th and inaccurately stated that the attackers had been wearing green pants, when in fact their pants had been red, there would be no reason to suspect this to be part of a political "cover-up", because no American voters could conceivably have cared either way.

I don't think any of that above will make any difference to the ones who just believe that there's some strange and terrible cover up and conspiracy about something....my guess is they'll jump off this and onto the factoid that Obama for the 4th time in a row did not mention any thanks to God during his annual Thanksgiving address. There's some dark Muslim conspricay there, I'm sure, instead of a universal non partisan no comment about God. You bet'cha.

It would seem as if Senator Kyl of Arizona has taken up the wingnut banner for this now that McCain and Graham are backing down......morons.

That's the guy who claimed on the Senate floor that performing abortions is "well over 90 percent of what Planned Parenthood does." (Planned Parenthood responded that 90 percent of its services are to provide contraception, STD and cancer testing and treatment, and only 3 percent are abortion-related.)

His response, the phrase "not intended to be a factual statement", was mocked by political comedians such as Stephen Colbert, who joked, "You can’t call him out for being wrong when he never intended to be right."

Senator Kyl's Benghazi claim might also be "not intended to be a factual statement." At least he's started to admit it. It's progress.

They've had a lot of experience. I think there's probably still some trying to say Clinton killed Vince in the Rose Garden with a Whitewater contract.

I think all this McCain/Graham BS about Susan Rice is simply a Republican ploy to get them to nominate John Kerry for SOS.

Then they can run Scott Brown to take over Kerry's seat and get the numbers more in their favor.

I just can't believe they got Collins in on it.

Also, as a lot of websites have already mentioned, Graham is up for reelection in 2014
and this is an early attempt at heading off a primary challenge from the nutter right.

That's one of the funniest aspects of this wingnuttery:

Republicans wanted General Petraeus to run for president. They wanted Paula Broadwell to run for Senate on the Republican side. Jill Kelly, who got the anonymous threatening emails from Paula Broadwell, is a Republican. It went public because Jill Kelly was flirting with a super-partisan right-winger FBI agent, who took the emails to his Republican congressman, who took them to House Majority Leader Republican Eric Cantor.

So who do Republicans blame? Democrats.

Gennifer Flowers: Bill Clinton Contacted Me In 2005, I Told Him To 'Leave Me Alone'

"Gennifer Flowers, the model and actress who came forward in 1992 with allegations that she'd engaged in a longterm affair with then-Democratic presidential candidate Bill Clinton, recently made new claims that Clinton had reached out to her as recently as 2005."

"Earlier in the interview, Flowers claimed that her now-famous press conference had finally given Clinton the name recognition that he'd told her he needed in order to be a contender in 1992."

I guess the good Senator from New York couldn't keep the home fires burning.

I don't know about the "good Senator from New York," but I'll bet if Bill Clinton is still straying from the rez he's got a lot more and better and closer and more discrete options than Gennifer Flowers.
