Massacre in Connecticut

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Apparently you misunderstood. Providing schools with increased security does not remove freedom. Last time I checked bank tellers, memebers of congress, and even the president were free to come and go as they please and do what they want. I'm curious as to how you figure that increased security equal less freedom.

He must have really gotten under some skins around here. Everyone here jumped at any shadow behind a tree thinking it was nascarfan as this board first came on line. However, you are mistaken about me but I could not help but notice you did not answer my question regarding increased security vs. freedom.

You did? Where? You made a vague comment about a police state and that has been all. I am simply proposing placing trained armed personnel in schools to REACT to a threat. How is that a police state? Are you not free to enter a bank during banking hours as you want? Are you not free to enter the capitol during business hours? You are even free to see your representative or possibly even the President speak. All of those institutions and people have trained armed personnel present to REACT to a threat. How is that a police state or a removal of any freedoms??

O'R, the Mayor of NY doesn't agree with you that the NRA owns the country.
I like Bloomberg. I would vote for Bloomberg for President if he comes back to the Democrats. But he's a total Pollyanna if he thinks that there's going to be any meaningful gun control passed, or that the NRA doesn't own enough members of Congress to stifle any serious attempt.

Vred, once again you twist and turn and exchange and distort what is said to satisfy your crazed personality; a personality that seeks to control. My post about the NY Mayor's comment that disagreed with O'R post about the influence of the NRA was just that. The Mayor is saying blaming the NRA by the President and Congress for not reforming gun control laws is overstated. IOW, the NRA does not run this country. The POTUS and Congress does and the Mayor wants them to do their job.

Do you have a split personality because the one you demonstrate on forums does not jive with the one you describe about your occupation and to say you check your politics at the door when you go to work is hogwash unless the other personality takes over.

You do not debate. All you do is argue and incite conflict. You have to stick your 2 cents into every post, nearly 1/4 of all post on this forum came from you, and you feel compelled to respond to post that are directed to one of your lib/dem cohorts before they have a chance to respond. At least give them the courtesy to comment before you destroy what is being said.

No, he didn't get under anyone's skin; he was just such a monumental idiot and colossal fool that we were all surprised he'd have the balls to come here; and try to fool us as he did so. Hilarious.

Okay banni! How's 20%? There's 70 registers members , give or take, and one individual owns 20% of the post. That says it all.

Fits right in there with you. Least you could do is welcome him rather than act in jealousy.

I wish I still had that quote of his that I used as my sig. Something about his contempt for thinking.

Or one of my favorite nascarfan moments: His argueing that the healthcare personal mandate was unconstitutional.... with a Newt Gingrich election banner as his sig.

And the contortions he went through - when I linked to video and articles of Newt Gingrich DEMANDING that personal mandate - to explain why Gingrich didn't actually want it.

Nascarfan was always good for a laugh.

Ah, yes, I remember it well; it was something like "take your facts and your professors analysis and stick them..." or very close to that.

RIGHT! And the facts in the post he was referring were indeed backed by opinions from three different university professors.

Yeah, that's what made him particularly strange; clinging to fantasy in the face of reality. That is hard to do I would imagine.....

31 Year-Old Handgun Violence Ad Still Relevant Today

The ad ran soon after Lennon was shot dead by Mark David Chapman.

The problem is - I think - that even if you completely outlawed guns right now, how long would it take before they'd be much harder to find so that our gun violence rates match other countries? Is there precedence for this?
