Hershel Walker Huh? What?

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Yeah, she said the truth out loud, and it's fun to ridicule her, but really, if Herschel were a Dem, I'd rather have him in the Senate than any Repug. Sad, but that's the way ultra-partisanship in the US has become.
Has there ever been a dem like Herschel, Boebert, mtg, ...?

Not that I can recall. There have been some bad ones, but they weren't usually just outright legit stupid. It used to be that no matter the party you had to have some semblance of qualification to get elected to Congress, and once there you made some effort to grow into the job. George Wallace and some of the segregationists used to be Dems, but they weren't the kind of evil as the current batch of Repugs.

I don't vote for unqualified and otherwise really bad Dems like Heath Shuler. Otoh, he's not Herschel-stupid.

Is there a point where a pol is so stupid that it's more of a detriment to their party than their vote is worth?

Not unless you have a few extra seats margin. If it's close to even or would lose majority, there is nobody too awful. Look, Manchin and Synema are pretty worthless as Dems go, and have obstructed some good stuff. But because they wear a "D", Schumer and not McConnell is running the Senate. So even being intentionally, maliciously and stupidly obstructive, they're still better than anybody wearing an "R".

I could never vote for Sen King Coal. Idk enough about the DINO from Arizona to be so absolute.

The luxury of voting on principle became obsolete about the same time as VCR's.

Actually, the last VCR was manufactured in 2016, but they were pretty well obsolete around 2006. But the obsolescence of principle voting started around 1994 with Gingrich's Contract on America. Like the VCR, though, it took a while to become Useless. But voters lost the luxury of principle voting around 2010 when McConnell said " The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president" and the rise of the so-called Tea Party.

Could be worse, you could be a 2020 GA GQP primary voter.

Ftr, MT always votes red for POTUS. So, I was able to vote my conscience without fertilizing the Shrubbery. I could not abide Al's nuke power cheerleading nor Tipper's censorship, and I don't fault lefty Floridians that also couldn't stomach him. Besides, Gore won Florida by many more than the 5 votes that gave Shrub the win.

 Thanks for posting that. I went looking for it that night, but struck out and forgot about it by the next morning.

After being so wildly revealing and successful in the GQP primary, Herschel is now part of the same experiment being run on all GA voters - Just how stupid are they?

Herschel Walker Says (many times) His Grandma Was 'Full-Blood Cherokee.' His Mom Says Otherwise.
The Georgia GOP Senate nominee’s great-grandma was somehow “kin to Cherokee,” she said, "but I don’t know too much about how she was connected."

Ouch, called a liar by his own mother.

Herschel Walker Flashes Fake Police Badge In Georgia Debate Against Raphael Warnock

Stolen valor.
I used to tie a beach towel around my neck and think I was Superman. Of course, I was four years old at the time.
My dad gave me pilot's wings that he got on one of his business trips.
I was 8.
I was not a pilot.
I didn't claim to be a pilot.
I got my spy kit, the secret decoder ring for special agents, in my Kix Cereal 1962. I've been James Bond's backup, 008, since 1963. Shush, now...
The GOP have made me seriously consider that in order to join the party, one has to sacrifice intelligence, integrity, and empathy. But I see it's even worse than I imagined.
When I was 12 the local Sheriff's Dept. had a program, and I got a heavy, metal "Junior Deputy" badge, which is probably more real than the one he flashed.
I can't believe people STILL would vote for Walker and that the Republicans STILL back him. What does that honestly say about our political system to the rest of the world!
In other words Walker doesn't know where he's been or what he's done.
What a great candidate to help out MTG.
Not only did Walker spend time at Quantico, he was also a deputy sheriff of Hazzard County and spent time as Nick Fury's right hand man at SHIELD. That was when he wasn't working for UNCLE, GI Joe, and the Impossible Missions Force (where he personally trained Ethan Hunt).
Congratulations to the Chicago Bears on winning yesterday on Thursday Night Football and being 6-0. See, I can make stuff up too. Go Bears.
