Epstein list release predictions and followup

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

To be fair, he probably would have said that for himself, regardless of any intent to protect DonOLD.
Trump Told By Bondi His Name Is In The 'Epstein Files': Report
The Wall Street Journal reported the president’s name appeared multiple times in a “truckload” of documents reviewed by the DOJ.

Attorney General Pam Bondi told President Donald Trump in May that his name featured multiple times in a “truckload” of documents related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday.

At a routine White House meeting, Bondi and her deputy revealed to the president that other high-profile figures were also named in files reviewed by the Department of Justice, according to the Journal citing senior Trump administration officials....

“This is another fake news story, just like the previous story by The Wall Street Journal,” White House Communications Director Steven Cheung told the newspaper on Wednesday.
Waaa.
... Trump was even asked by a reporter last week whether Bondi had informed him that his name was in the documents.

The president replied, “No, no,” and said that his attorney general had “given us a very quick briefing,” before pivoting to suggest the controversy surrounding the files is a “hoax.”
The average person might think that's a LIE, as DonOLD is famous for spewing. However, there's an UPDATE:
The “truckload” of documents do NOT feature Trump multiple times related to his one time best friend, the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, and AG Bondage never told Trump that they did.

Got it?

Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) made a stunning accusation against President Donald Trump’s handling of convicted sex abuser Jeffrey Epstein’s case files, claiming he is already destroying the evidence.

“We may still be talking about it come September, when we come back into session, but to go from ‘it’s on my desk’ to ‘it doesn’t exist,’ they may be engaging in destroying evidence. We know that he’s not above that,” Crockett said in a clip teasing a full interview with internet personality Russell Ellis, known online as the Jolly Good Ginger....

More conspiracy theory fodder:

Former Epstein lawyer Roy Black dies at age 80

Suspicious timing.
... Black died at his home in Coral Gables, Fla. ...
1 hour 13 minutes from Mar-a-Lago.
He also won the acquittal of William Kennedy Smith in 1991. Smith was nephew of former president John F. Kennedy, former Attorney General and Sen. Robert F. Kennedy (D-Mass.) and former Sen. Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.), who was accused of assaulting a woman in Palm Beach after a night of heavy drinking, according to the AP....
Sounds like he had a type.

Now this, the odds of my winning our bet just got a bump  :
RFK Jr. Pictured Partying With Child Sex Predator Jeffrey Epstein
WITH FRIENDS LIKE THESE
The renewed scrutiny on the HHS Secretary comes amid an ongoing firestorm over the Epstein files.

Image

... As President Donald Trump tries desperately to quell the firestorm surrounding the Epstein files, Kennedy has also come under scrutiny over trips he took on Epstein’s private plane, his late wife’s links with convicted associate Ghislaine Maxwell, and his past association with former industry titans such as Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby.

Photos that have re-emerged also show RFK Jr. at a New York Academy of Art gala with Epstein in in 1994, while court documents show a listing for “Kennedy, Bobby & Mary” in Epstein’s “little black book,” which featured contacts for socialites and politicians, as well as the girls he sexually assaulted.
:---P
... But Kennedy, the nephew of former president John F. Kennedy, came under fire for the plane rides again last year when he bizarrely defended his association with Epstein by listing other sex predators he knew.

“I mean, I knew Harvey Weinstein. I knew Roger Ailes. I knew... O.J. Simpson came to my house. Bill Cosby came to my house,” Kennedy told comedian Andrew Schulz during a podcast.

The comments were widely pilloried, given Weinstein was a notorious Hollywood mogul convicted of rape; Ailes was ousted as the head of Fox News amid sexual harassment allegations; Simpson was acquitted in a double murder case involving his former wife and her friend; and Cosby was jailed for sexual assault before a court overturned his conviction.

“Quite a guest list!” CNN’s Jake Tapper tweeted at the time.
... Trump had come to office fomenting those conspiracy theories and promising greater transparency, but has since declared the issue a Democratic “hoax” and hit out at supporters who think otherwise.
Opps.
“Conspiracy theories have hijacked the modern GOP and now they’re choking on their own tinfoil,” said Polyak from 314 Action.

More than likely it'll come as a recommendation from Pam Blondi and DOJ.
They'll start slowly planting seeds slowly, she was railroaded, she's been so cooperative, then maybe go to witch hunt. If the base starts softening.... -0-?

We may be less than "great minds" relative to GoCubsGo if Maxwell gets a pardon or commutation. I had posted that extra prison privileges or a sentence reduction was possible, though.

Social Media Wonders Why Trump Suddenly Cares About Washington Commanders' Team Name

YT: Trump threatens to hold up stadium deal if Washington Commanders don't switch back to Redskins
... Besides making the demand for the Washington Commanders name change, Trump’s also been making other plays for people’s attention, including:

* Renewing the lie that he did not solicit and accept help from Russia in his 2016 campaign
* Releasing FBI files on slain civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., despite the objection of King’s family
* Posting a bizarre artificial intelligence-generated video of Barack Obama being arrested in the Oval Office

But many people on social media suspected that there’s a specific reason the president and his administration have been desperate to, as former White House adviser Stephen Bannon once put it, “flood the zone with shit.”

That reason? Here’s a hint: It’s spelled E-p-s-t-e-i-n....

:D Does that work for you, O Really? :P

CEO of Martin Luther King Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change ...:

Oglala Lakota —Enrolled at Pine Ridge, S.D. ...:

They're

The only real conclusion to be drawn from Trump playing culture war hits like “bring the Redskins back” is that he is terrified of the Epstein stuff and terrified of losing his base by refusing to release the files.

 :---P
🚨 Trump is now demanding we bring back racist team names.

Yes—he wants the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Indians restored “IMMEDIATELY.”

This man is in the middle of an Epstein scandal, a border meltdown, and collapsing poll numbers—and he’s frothing at the mouth about football mascots.

Distraction swing and a miss:
MAGA Senator Brutally Confronted with Truth About Epstein Deal

CNN anchor Jake Tapper exposed GOP Sen. Markwayne Mullin on Sunday after the Republican senator tried to link the Jeffrey Epstein case to former President Barack Obama—despite it happening under President George W. Bush.
Oklahoma, figures.
... “2009, there was a sweetheart plea deal that was made underneath the Obama administration with Epstein, and that sweetheart has not been exposed,” Mullin said.

Tapper then walked Mullin through the facts of the deal, which was announced in 2008 under then-U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta, a Bush appointee who later became Trump’s first labor secretary, covering Epstein’s alleged offenses between 2001 and 2007. Epstein pleaded guilty to two crimes. “It all took place in 2008,” Tapper said.

Mullin stuck to his guns and refused to accept the fact-check.

“Who was in office at the time? Who was in office at the time?” Mullin claimed.

“George W. Bush,” Tapper responded....

It would be a shocking answer from any normal head of state in most any civilized country. But it shouldn't surprise anybody from Trump. It's become typical of him to dodge questions he doesn't want to deal with by saying he "hasn't seen it" "doesn't know about that" or "haven't thought about it" etc.
And, typically, he always expects everyone to just take that at face value and move along, and never considers the inevitable conclusions his comments lead to.

"Whudabout" is your best?
It's not a matter of Trump in this instance (and frequently) using a technique to avoid direct answers that is known by most public figures. It's the fact that he's totally inept at the technique yet habitually gets away with it because nobody has the balls to challenge him directly.

Way back in the day when I was in Toastmaster's Club, there was a game/exercise during part of every meeting, called "Table Topics" where the MC of the night would start a discussion and then ask various people questions that they probably didn't know anything about. The purpose of the exercise was to learn to respond past "I don't know" and do so without appearing an idiot. But the key is to find some plausible way to link from the direct question to something you do know about so that it isn't quite so obvious as a diverting tactic.

Either of "the Clinton's" might have responded to the pardon question with "that issue is not under any consideration" for example. That says "no" without saying "no" permanently. That isn't the same as "I'm allowed, but haven't thought about it."

And yes, when you're President or President*, little differences matter - including the "meaning of 'is'"

Yeah, picky and petty. But as I mentioned, little things matter when you're president. It's been that way pretty much forever, which is why most successful politicians (and all real leaders) are careful about their public statements. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if the public only looked at actual words in their accurate context, but everybody is looking for "signals" and "messages" and make their own interpretations. Trump just expects everybody to believe it simply because he said it.
