I always wondered why the US let them back in after 1865. It would have been a good chance to get rid of a bunch of misfits that have been nothing but a drag ever since. Think of all that's happened in Alabama, Mississippi, etc. that would have been some other country's problems if their reinstatement to the US had been declined. Let them be their own country, and they'd probably have ended up a mainland Haiti. Sell them to Mexico, whatever.

Same here. Excluding the majority of average white southerners and most of the average white everybodyelses everywhere from any and all decision making involving anyone else is an entirely worthwhile thought.

I do see secession as a solution, too bad 1860 didn't (maybe, maybe not).

I can't see that slavery would have lasted much longer. Like any war, it was about money on both sides, but the north would have also won in the markets. It wouldn't have taken too many years for open up new supply lines for the northern factories and it wouldn't have taken that long for the rest of the world to shun the south's goods because of slavery. The world was quickly turning on this issue.

It would have been long over by now, instead we fight on in Charlottesville and around Jim Crow monuments.

Yeah, nothing much has changed; corporations (large plantation owners) still manage to exploit their labor force or else eliminate them entirely by using foreign (slave) labor and while this happens, the peoples "representatives" squawk and quack about how fucking great it all is.
