"LA Chargers" is still an obscene term around here. There was a somewhat-but-not-entirely-serious effort to get the TV stations to broadcast most any other game in place of Chargers games. But it's not like the stations actually have a choice. So every Sunday, the formerly extremely loyal citizens of San Diego have to have the traitor Chargers as a featured game.
Attendance has sucked, even in their dinky 30K seat temporary home. I'll bet that viewership is also lousy.

I get on TV, early:

Seattle Seahawks at Carolina Panthers. Nice!
Houston Texans at Tennessee Titans. Not my favorite teams and no preference, but an important, competitive game. Maybe I'll root for Tennessee if neoplacebo wants me to.

Late:

Los Angeles Rams at Dallas Cowboys. Okay, I would like to see the Cowboys get beat.

Sun night:

Buffalo vs @Pittsburgh. No preference, but an important, competitive game.

Mon night:

@New Orleans > Indianapolis. Meh, might affect whether New Orleans gets a 1st round bye, but otherwise meaningless.

Good for Eli. Always seems like a good guy, never the best, never the worst but he did last a long time and more importantly, beat the Golden Child twice in the Superbowl.

Houston (8-5) vs @Tennessee (8-5), AFC South Bowl?, no preference.
Philadelphia (6-7) @Washington, gotta beat those Cowboys out of a Playoff spot. Nice! NFC East Bowl at home vs Dallas next week.
Cleveland > @Arizona. Nope.
Minnesota > @LA Chargers. A rout  .
@Oakland > Jacksonville. Damn, winning Jacksonville TD with 0:31 remaining. Next year.
LA Rams > @Dallas (6-7). Crap. SB to missing the playoffs in one year for the Rams.

The Raiders have already abandoned us... they are set to move to Las Vegas next season (I think).

I do support the A's. Even attend their games every year (not all of them).
I understand. I'm still a fan until they actually leave, then fuck 'em.

I don't hate Vegas, maybe I'll get over it after awhile. I never did accept the LA Raiders.
Raiders fans throw garbage, fight with security after ugly final game in Oakland

An otherwise lively day at the Oakland Coliseum quickly turned dark as the Raiders gave up 17 unanswered points to fall to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday afternoon in their final game at their home of decades.

Added security began to line the field at the start of the fourth quarter, at which point the Raiders were up 16-6, in preparation for a potential rush of fans.

Happy fans are one thing; furious ones, quite another.

Instead of taking the win, both Oakland and the refs made a series of questionable calls. The Jaguars sealed the deal when quarterback Gardner Minshew eventually connected with Chris Conley for a touchdown with 31 seconds remaining, and the 20-16 result held.

Fans promptly began chucking garbage — including glass Snapple bottles and half-full cans of beer — onto the field....

Unfortunately for Oakland’s legacy, it was a fitting end to Raiders’ tumultuous time in The Town.
What kind of idiot thinks it's a good idea to sell glass bottles at a sporting event? Other than endangering folks, this is how true fans should mark betrayal.

... I was too young for the 1971 riot, but was with the rioters in spirit.
On September 21, 1971, by a vote of 10 to 2, American League owners granted approval to move the franchise to Arlington (TX) for the 1972 season. Senators fans were livid. Enmity came to a head at the club's last game in Washington. Thousands of fans simply walked in without paying after the security guards left early, swelling the paid attendance of 14,460 to around 25,000, while fans unfurled a banner reading "SHORT STINKS". With the Senators leading 7–5 and two outs in the top of the ninth inning, several hundred youths stormed the field, raiding it for souvenirs. One man grabbed first base and ran off with it. With no security in sight and only three bases, umpire crewchief Jim Honochick forfeited the game to the New York Yankees.

Brady has the rings, so makes a persuasive case for GOAT, but it's not a unanimous opinion.
Saints blast Colts 34-7 as Drew Brees sets multiple passing records

(40 year-old) Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints put on a show Monday night against the Indianapolis Colts.

Brees set single game and career passing records with a stellar performance against the Colts. Brees completed 29-of-30 passes for 307 yards and four touchdowns as the Saints cruised to a 34-7 victory to keep them stride-for-stride with the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers for top seeding consideration in the NFC entering the playoffs.

The 29-of-30 performance by Brees surpassed the 28-of-29 performance by Philip Rivers of the Los Angeles Chargers in a 45-10 victory over the Arizona Cardinals last November for the best completion percentage performance in a single game in league history.

Brees’ third touchdown pass of the night, a 5-yard score to tight end Josh Hill, also allowed Brees to surpass Peyton Manning’s record for the most touchdown passes thrown in a career in NFL history. Brees now has 541 passing touchdowns for his career. Manning had 539 touchdowns with Tom Brady at 538 and still in chase of Brees for the most ever....
:-||

Seattle (1 seed), Green Bay (2), New Orleans (3), San Francisco (5) are all at 11-3.
Minnesota (6) is right with them at 10-4.
http://scores.nbcsports.com/fb/standings.asp?type=conf
Only the 8-6 Los Angeles Rams could MAYBE sneak in if Minnesota chokes.
Sucks for both 7-7 Philly and Dallas (4). One of them will lose the division. One of them will win the division, which may be worse :o :D .

GO @San Francisco 49ers vs Los Angeles Rams tonight.
That was exciting!

In the NFC:
Vikings get in the playoffs.
Cowboys vs Eagles still to be decided.
Otherwise, the teams are set, but the Central and West Division winners aren't yet known.

Go:

Baltimore > @Cleveland, lock up that #1 seed.
Pittsburgh > @NY Jets, keep that #6 seed.
New Orleans > @Tennessee, give Pittsburgh that #6 seed.
@Philadelphia > Dallas. I'm pretty sure that the winner wins the NFC East regardless of Week 16. Then, the #5 seed trounces it in its own house.
@Seattle > Arizona, win the NFC West.
Green Bay > @Minnesota Mon night. I like both, but I'd rather that either San Francisco or Seattle keeps the #5 seed over Minnesota.

TV

Early:
Carolina Panthers at Indianapolis Colts. Go Panthers, but :sleepy: .
Baltimore Ravens at Cleveland Browns, might help determine Baltimore's #1, #2 or maybe even #3 seed.

Late:
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles. Go Eagles!

Sun Night:
Kansas City at Chicago Bears. Go Bears, but I think it only affects whether Kansas City gets a #3 or #4 seed :sleepy: .

Oakland > LA Chargers! Sweet. I think they're in the playoffs at 8-8 if they win @Denver, and if TN & Pitt both lose again next week.

TV

Late:
Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles. Go Eagles! Cool. The Eagles are in if they beat @NYG or @Dallas loses to DC next week.
12 playoff slots, 5 teams (maybe even 6 - Colts) still have a shot at the last 2 slots, 4 more NFC teams are still jockeying for 2 division wins, and 5 with NO are contending for first round byes.

It’s sad that America’s team has to endure the fiasco that is Jerry Jones and his puppet.

Been a long long while since Tom Landry and Jimmy Johnson.

The other NFL Texas team, Houston Tigers clinched the AFC south. They can move up to #3 playoff seed if they beat the Titans in Week 17 and the Chiefs lose to the Chargers, thanks to a head-to-head tiebreaker win over the Chiefs.

If so, a sentimental boon. Let's hope for a production boon, too.

MN is and will remain the #6 seed.
I think GB could end up the #1, #2 or #3 seed. If #3, it gets MN again in GB  .
SF and Seattle will win the West or be the #5 seed and going to Philly or Dallas, which is almost as good as a bye ;) .
If SF > Seattle, I think it's the #1 seed.
If Seattle > SF, I'm not sure what its seeding possibilities are, maybe #1, #2 or #3.
