Trump

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

The Trump Movement is the Jolt Cola version of the Tea Party. "All the racism and TWICE the violence!"

Did Melania Trump violate U.S. visa law?

... If an investigation were to turn up visa fraud, that would "call into question a green card application and subsequent citizenship application," Politico reported, "thus raising questions about Melania Trump's legal status, even today, despite her marriage to a U.S. citizen." ...

 "We're going to need a bigger boat."
Tell Republican Congressional leaders:

“Protect the integrity of our electoral process by launching an investigation to ensure that there is no inappropriate relationship between Donald Trump and the Russian government.”
Not that they'll ever do it, but no harm in rubbing it in.

Trump’s Bullying Exposes Paul Ryan’s Shallowness

Serious question, not just mocking - Is there anyone in the GOP that comes out looking better as a result of this campaign besides the Bushes other than Jeb?
I thought of Kasich, but he got trounced.
I thought of Mitten, but his 'Stop Trump' efforts failed miserably.

Anyone else?

Nah. Now there's footage of other GOP officials declaring him hated within his own party. Of him accidently slugging his wife. His daughter outside the campaign bus not wanting anything to do with him. Being booed at the GOP convention. That's not going to wash off.

His main schtick - labeling himself an anti-establishment Washington outsider - will be even less credible after a Presidential run and another four years in Washington. And the GOP anti-establishment crowd now hates him for not backing Trump.

Rand Paul didn't court the wingnuts like his father did, so while he didn't do too well, he gained credibility.

Cruz - Maybe, I didn't watch his speech. Good for him for not endorsing, but I'm not sure that his losing and behavior overall made him any more appealing to America. Plus he's got that national loser albatross - to Trump of all people - burden. Has been overcome in the past, like Hillary probably will, but it's difficult. Will people remember much beyond "Lyin' Ted"? He's up for Senate reelection in 2018 - will he run and do you think he'll win?

Rand Paul - Good thought, but I'm not sure with America as a whole. I didn't follow him closely but he just seemed like another con among many.

Well, look - I never said Republicans are all that smart, and the evangelicals, who made up a large part of Cruz's supporters are not toward the top of even a low curve. They were willing to believe that a Princeton/Harvard Law grad who had been a government bureaucrat for years before becoming a US Senator, who is married to a Goldman Sachs major partner, is just a good ol' Texas boy in cowboy boots being the outsider looking out for the little people. Voters have short memories to begin with, and politicians get makeovers all the time. After the Trumpster goes down big, Cruz will spend the next few years saying "I told you so" and all will be forgiven. The right wingers will be saying, once again, that if they had just nominated a "real" conservative (like Cruz  ) instead of Trump, they would have won the White House and increased the Congressional majorities and had four Scalia clones on the Supreme Court.

I can see Cruz looking better within parts or all of the GOP. I probably should have asked more clearly: Is there anyone in the GOP that comes out looking better *to America* as a result of this campaign besides the Bushes other than Jeb?

Oh, "to America" - that's different. I'd say Kasich. He stayed out of the Trumphole and because most everybody else in the race was batshit crazy, he came across as a thinking moderate instead of the hard rightwinger that he is IRL. Some polls showed he had the best chance to beat Hillary this year.

There’s No Way to Cancel Recurring Donations to Donald Trump
Once you get on the Trump train, you can't get off.

 I would normally consider this abusive, but if anyone deserves to be told they're idiots every month, it's Trumpettes.

That'll last longer than the current campaign. Like Palin touring in a campaign bus and collecting donations in 2012, he can keep collecting money even if he decides not to run.

He'll be fleecing the elderly many years after they've forgotten what the automatic monthly deduction on their bank accounts is about.

I'm somewhat torn on this one. Yes, it's as scummy or scummier than the internet and cable services that have full-time people on board to keep you from cancelling your service, but I can't help thinking anybody who would set up a recurring payment to Trump in the first place kinda deserves what they get. Downside is Trump continuing to collect all that money.
