Iran War

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Fallout from a ground explosion at Pickax Mountain would contaminate the Persian Gulf, poisoning the water supply for 100 million people.
The Russians have already told at least two other governments that an American nuclear strike on Iran would free them to use nuclear weapons against Ukraine. Pakistan and India would be tempted to do the same against each other, as would North Korea against Seoul. After the first nuclear strike, World War Three is inevitable. That war would be short and final.
From the comments.

The irony is extraordinary: two nuclear-armed states discussing nuclear strikes against a country they accuse of seeking nuclear weapons.
And somehow, this is sold as peace and security.

Just as genocide is sold as self-defense..
Nukes can never be normalized.
It's just too batshit crazy.

Have you ever seen the movie Threads? It's horribly depressing but it's probably the most realistic depiction of the aftermath of a nuclear war. Highly recommend.

Life imitates dystopian art:
... Meanwhile, an international crisis develops after the Soviet Union invades northern Iran in response to a United States-backed coup in the country. Daily life in Sheffield continues while an American ultimatum demanding joint withdrawal from Iran expires.

After a limited nuclear exchange in Mashhad, armed conflict breaks out between America and the Soviet Union....
US aggression is the spark, of course.
