Re: The Religion Thread
Predicted answer:
It's OK to promote bigotry against same-sex relationships if belief in an undetectable invisible friend tells you to do so, because it's unnatural.
Same-sex relationships, that is. Belief in an undetectable invisible friend is perfectly natural.

You still hung up on Jewish Law? Don't forget that cotton and polyester thingy..... I thought surely you'd be smart enough to know that Christianity wasn't around back then. Depends on which part of the Muslim religion you're referring to.bannination wrote: "Vile towards Christianity? Maybe, especially parts about killing everyone, selling your daughter into prostitution, sacrifices.... gods loving the smell of burnt flesh, etc. etc. I mean, who wouldn't be against the evil parts of the Christian religion? You're against the "evil" parts of the Muslim religion aren't you?"
Is homosexuality all you can think about? Geeze.....give us a break, grow up and get off'n your soapbox.Vrede wrote: "Not quite. bannination does not advocate the "vile" legal and institutional bigotry towards Christians that you and homerfobe do towards gays. Try as he might, bannination has not yet denigrated Christianity as much as you have, Mr.B."
There you are twisting again...who said anything about "advocating" anything...one of your favorite words?
How long did you have to go to school to learn all those phrases you freely toss around? You know, advocate, favor, hateful, blindly, etc., etc., etc.?

So the Catholics and all the other denominations that use Old Testament quotes to declare same-sex relationships evil, are not Christian?Mr.B wrote:You still hung up on Jewish Law? The Ten Commandments are not part of the Christian faith?
(Keeping in mind that in the Bible, the commandments don't stop at 10. They continue with rules on keeping slaves, selling your daughter into slavery, rules on killing a slave or your children, etc.)

Re: The Religion Thread
Well, see, I like Mr.B. I may not agree with him on some issues, but I like that he stands up for himself and generally avoids petty personal attacks. But what I don't understand about the "Mr.B's" of the world is that they don't know or admit that they are bigoted. I, for example, am unabashedly bigoted against rednecks. I don't like them; I don't think they should be allowed to breed; I certainly don't think they should be allowed to vote or live among civilized folk. I know that is an unfair and unreasonable attitude, and one that has unlawful aspects, but I don't care. I think rednecks are unnatural and, if I were religious, would think un-Godly. If it were up to me, I'd make sure rednecks were taxed more than anyone else, could be denied emergency healthcare, and not allowed to shop in regular grocery stores. But I know that's bigoted and unreasonable. And even so, if there was a vote to deny rednecks fundamental civil rights of citizenship in the US, I wouldn't vote against them. Why don't those bigoted against gays admit to their bigotry and even in doing so still not vote against fellow citizens?

My previous neighbor was a cracked out redneck who thought helicopters were after him all the time. Honest to god.
If I had a reasonable command of the English language I'd write a book or a movie script about that guy and make it rich.

Damn. Comparing me to Banni. I'm not vile, It just pisses them off when I get in their face crapping on their queer loving sentiments.Mr.B wrote:Bannination: As vile towards Christianity as Homerfobe is to homosexuality. You two have a lot in common; A LOT.

You think rednecks are ungodly? You must think that fags are upstanding pillars of the community. (no pun intended) I for one feel the same way about the goddamned freaks of nature vermin that you seem to admire and coddle with.

Why don't your queer friends and family members admit that their nothing but filth and nastiness who shouldn't be allowed to do any of the things you mentioned above? I'd much rather be known as a redneck rather than a low-life cocksucker. How about you?

And we know you're a low-life queer. Your avatar must be what gives you away, but we don't mind, we think it's fascinating that you're already known as one.Vrede wrote:We think you're a low-life redneck. Big of you to flaunt it and I thank you. You fuel my fire against faggotry.

Re: The Religion Thread
*From the homophobic thread*
You've made your choices, I've made mine. I wasn't the one who wrote that homosexuality is an abomination; I merely said that I believe it.
Just because the 10 Commandments is OT Law, doesn't mean it is now OK to kill someone; whereas the petty cherry-pickings you point out are no longer laws to be adhered to. LINK
Common sense dictates choices. Again I say, same genders were not created (or evolved, whichever you prefer) to copulate with each other....if that makes me a bigot, so be it. I'm happy with that, and regardless how much you et al attempt to shame my beliefs, so be it...it's something I can live with.
Vrede wrote: "We weren't all raised to be the bigots that you are."
Your flattery is overwhelming.rstrong wrote: "All you've done with your diversion is reinforce how dishonest and hypocritical you are."
I just see no point in arguing with you. The Bible is what it is. We have a choice to believe it, shun it, or ridicule it.rstrong wrote: "You declare same-sex relationships to be evil on Old Testament grounds, and hours later declare the Old Testament irrelevant when it's inconvenience to your argument."
