This forum has become more popular than I had imagined... when it started it was certainly meant to be temporary.
Obviously it hasn't slowed down, not that it'll grow much more either.
I'd like suggestions on the name of the forum, specifically domain names so that it makes us easier to find.... at least if we can come up with something worth it.
My quick ideas: ncforum.com; northcarolinaforum.com; (blueridgeforum.com is taken, but perhaps blueridgeforum.org or etc might be available.)

Indeed... you're no longer local banni... think regional.. ..
carolinachills.com or Appalachat.com .. .
now if the forum goes far right extremist i.e. Republican
.. . how about WNCW.com (Western North Carolina Whiners) ... I'm sure that great station in Spindale won't mind..
Using a local name might be a point of pride but I think it will limit the member draw. I would not have joined a Hendersonville forum. Not because I have anything against Hendersonville but because I would assume too many of the discussion would be local. My advice is go with a national name draw.
I know censoring triggers questions of bias. Everyone is bias to a degree but some when in authority can put that aside. There are many post that serve no purpose other than ongoing insults. Controlling this can be very subjective. It is one thing to, out of frustration, to include an insult because another fails to acknowledge and counter post. It is all together another to just have insults that relate to the person and not subject matter.
The over use of copied and pasted material is also counter to participation draw. Copied excerpts to make a point with the link seems to me to be better for more reader participation.
If your membership draw is large enough then additional categories can be helpful. The SHJ had "News" and "Politics" which was pointless. But having location categories might be productive for local issues eg. "Hendersonville" "Asheville" etc. or SC, NC, and National or youth (with age restriction). Even a category where students can ask for homework help. This worked good in the UK_BBC board.
I think you might like to call it something like "Blue Ridge...something." Obviously "BlueRidgeNow" is taken, but the term "Blue Ridge" itself isn't copyrighted and then former participants who might be looking for the old forum will find us. I guess that could be a good or bad thing, depending on who found us, but still.

P.M.ing you a suggestion that rstrong sort of inspired.....
With all the new SC additions I agree that we should not limit ourselves to NC.
My Mac (no middle click)/Firefox opens links in a new tab except here and I can't find a browser setting to change that. One option I found online that works is to press Ctrl while clicking the link.
That's a Mac for ya.... they don't think you're smart enough for the middle click.
You and rstrong think a lot alike with the ideas.....
