A Great Local Story
http://www.blueridgenow.com/article/201 ... ?p=4&tc=pg
It is wonderful to see folks take an idea and turn it into a growing, profitable business that hires other folks. These ladies hatched this idea at a kitchen table. I don't know how many employees they have, but there is mention of 35 sales reps. In reading the article it does appear these ladies "Did build it themselves".
Congratulations to them!

tag, you can’t take anything good that happened to or is accomplished by anybody with attaching another of your right wing disproved over and over lies to it
the ladies did good and as do so many small businesses, they employ others and drive our economy
but they ain’t the makers you and faux screech endlessly about
what they are is good honest hard working middle class who are most welcome by their country to use the economy, the roads, the mail, the products of public schools etc and etc and etc – the very people and circumstances that warren and Obama spoke about
before faux took it out of context and gave it to you to suck on
and just like you did with acorn and are doing wiyth ben gazi, it spite of being shown what Obama said and in spite of having it explained to you
here you go again, what makes you hate so much of America
http://www.commondreams.org/view/2012/11/19-3
1. Only THREE PERCENT of the very rich are entrepreneurs.
According to both Marketwatch and economist Edward Wolff, over 90 percent of the assets owned by millionaires are held in a combination of low-risk investments (bonds and cash), personal business accounts, the stock market, and real estate. Only 3.6 percent of taxpayers in the top .1% were classified as entrepreneurs based on 2004 tax returns. A 2009 Kauffman Foundation study found that the great majority of entrepreneurs come from middle-class backgrounds, with less than 1 percent of all entrepreneurs coming from very rich or very poor backgrounds.
There ain’t no benevolent aristocracy

I guess I better quote you before you take out your comment that turned a good story into just more of your hate politics

Re: A Great Local Story
Nice story. Shoulda left the politics out of it. But since you didn't, here's a quote from the article that clearly
demonstrates the principle you derided:
"The store manager at Porter & Prince was a cousin of a buyer at the Biltmore Estate, a buyer who “fell in love with the product instantly and said, ‘Come up to the office,’ ” Kross recalled.
Pearson added, “She wasn’t even supposed to order any more (product) by that time of year. They had a cut-off for orders of, I think, March. She said she’d make an exception for our product. We’re now in three shops there, and the hotel. That was the big door-opening, because so many people from around the world go to the Biltmore.”
Cousin...exception..."big door opening...
Yeah....all by herself.

Not to mention that the buyer came to her office. I'd bet that she used the roads, bridges etc. that Obama was talking about, that Repubicans have a hissy fit about when Obama claims that she didn't build them.O Really wrote:Cousin...exception..."big door opening...

Fish Head goes totally off topic and the rest of the libs whp posted are looking for a way not to give credit where credit is due. These ladies created a product that appealed. The fact their hard work got someone to change their buying schedule is their doing by creating the product.
Quite frankly, you all are pathetic. Do you think people can't wipe their a-- without help from the government?

we did give credit
and you can't wipe your sorry ass without the help of your local government providing you with somewhere to put your shit
but as usual lil tag refuses to admit he made another mistake and repeated the faux lies he so eagerly swallows
and as usual when the context of obama's statement is pointed out to him - he makes another pointless attack
doode, you would be nekid if it weren't for your lies - and you call other pitiful? grow up tag

You post a lie, and people counter it with the truth.Supsalemgr wrote:I am pleased all the libs are going bats--t over my post.
Once again you posted a Republican lie that any 8-year-old could disprove by simply looking up the citation. A lie made all the more stupid in that you're parroting it long after it was thoroughly disproven.
Once again, people countered it with the truth. Once again, you missed the point.
Posting that you're pleased is just one more self-embarrassment, but hardly a surprise to the rest of us.

Re: A Great Local Story
Nobody - nobody - denigrated their effort nor their accomplishment. You had to take a nice feel-good story and add a snark created out of pure campaign rhetoric bullshit. And you're surprised when you get push-back? Believe it or not, the campaign is over. Obama won despite being the target of the Republicans' "primary objective to make [him] a one term President. " We all know you don't like Obama. We all know you spread right-wing propaganda whenever you get the chance. Fine. Your right to do so. But why taint the real accomplishments of these fine people with your toxicity?

Re: A Great Local Story
there is no chance to have a legitimate discussion with most of them. lil tag seems so like a somewhat educated person but he has a total inability to enter a discussion without constantly demanding links and proof of common knowledge events on one hand
and on the other, he repeats so much bs that he gets from who knows where and when proof is offered that his assertion is false, he either keeps repeating it, attacks or runs away
the story he posted is just more proof that some rich benevolent friend o mitts doesn't look down on the peasants and decree more job
it's hard working creative people with ideas in concert with consumers who want and can purchase the products of those ideas - and both use the public commons to enrich our economy - or they did until 1982 and when they war against the middle class made it's 1st big push since the they destroyed the middle class in the 1920s

no. what you posted is the same bullshit you have been spewing for years about the makers and the takers and how the makers built it all by themselves and obama told them that they didn't make anything by themselves

I find it incredibly hilarious so many r'wingers fell for the "You didn't build that" spin parlayed by Faux Noise, Mitt Rmoney, Paul Ryan, Limbaugh et al and still repeat it.
Even so, the article is a good story about a small business-person doing well.

even mitten thinks we are a village.
it must really hurt suckermanager to realize that all he has taken to heart from the right wing media has pretty much in every case been a lie. this lie - the theme of mitt's republicon convention (held in a taxpayer funded arena) used an out of context lie about obama as their theme and mittens continues to use the same theme at his political rallies but it turns out he made the same comment as obama

They would be politically homeless if it weren't for their lies. Just like Ragged-out Rubble and the lie he posts in his signature. It's been proved to be a lie, but he apparently has some deep-seated, irrational need to keep believing in it.billy.pilgrim wrote: it must really hurt suckermanager to realize that all he has taken to heart from the right wing media has pretty much in every case been a lie. this lie - the theme of mitt's republicon convention (held in a taxpayer funded arena) used an out of context lie about obama as their theme and mittens continues to use the same theme at his political rallies but it turns out he made the same comment as obama
Supersalesucker is the same way. Kool Aid becomes gospel out of necessity. There's no other way to prop up their religion-political belief system.

Re: A Great Local Story
Yeah, that's what I've come to rationalize it as. If you admit you're on the wrong track, then your entire system of belief and thought crashes and burns. No self respecting wingnut could bear to have the certain knowledge that their entire empire is based on lies and half truths, thus the lies and hate must be perpetuated and kept alive; if it dies, so do they. I guess it would be analagous to a religious conversion for a wingnut to renounce wingnuttery.....
