Go outside . . . Look Up . . .

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Go outside . . . Look Up . . .

Should be a good night... cool, clear, steady atmosphere.. .. .. The Pleiades offer a wonderful view with binoculars... . and with a steady hand.. Jupiter's moons are easily separated with even birding binoculars.

Image for 12/7/2012 but will be fine to use for the next few days. ..

Nice, Jupiter is always an amazing sight, even by the naked eye.

Good god, I miss living in Mitchell. Being out in the country, the hot tub was wonderful for star gazing and meteor shower watching. Even when it was 35 below the hot tub kept me warm and cozy.

I had a web site that would tell me which satellites and Iridium flares to watch for. ISS flyovers were amazing. I once even saw a Progress freighter that had been backed off a few miles while a Soyuz visited.

I don't think so, Banni. I've seen this "view" Image many, many, times in the past, and it don't look like no constellation; in fact, it don't look like no star either.......
Don't tell me, are you confusing it with your blow up doll again? :D

That was maddawg's doll. Can't you find some new "dirt"? That ones old and moldy.
If you'd wash it on occasion you wouldn't have that problem.

It's from Astronomy Magazine's site.. .. . Sky and Telescope is another good one.. .

We started out with the big binoculars but it was such a good night .. steady upper atmosphere. . . we took out the telescopes.. . After the scopes cooled.. viewing was truly excellent.

Trump: “We had the safest border in the history of our country - or at least recorded history. I guess maybe a thousand years ago it was even better.”
