I will guess that since they've been convinced of something that isn't happening (massive voter fraud) they assume they can minimize this thing that isn't happening by engaging in it themselves. It's the kind of pretzel logic that just comes natural to wingnuts and nutjobs.

Actual voter fraud appears to be mostly accidental, or claimed to be accidental as was the case, or cases, when Ann Adams Apple Coulter used the dumb blond defense by not “willfully” committing voter fraud 3 times.
