"The painful fact is that Barack Obama is the president that Nixon always wanted to be."
"We supposedly learned important lessons from the abuses of power of the Nixon administration, and then of the Bush administration: namely, that we don’t trust government officials to exercise power in the dark, with no judicial oversight, with no obligation to prove their accusations. Yet now we hear exactly this same mentality issuing from Obama, his officials and defenders to justify a far more extreme power than either Nixon or Bush dreamed of asserting: he’s only killing The Bad Citizens, so there’s no reason to object!"
I will bet that Obama doesn't resign. I will bet that he will not be impeached. And I will bet that he will never be so paranoid as to engage in petty street crime as Nixon did. The worst thing about Obama, for me, is that he continues with the Patriot Act. It's rather Nixonian in my view, but certainly not worse than Nixon.
So there are only two constitutional experts in the U.S.? Okayyyy. This is almost
as ridiculous as the Obama Hitler comparison. Unless something new comes out, this
ain't going anywhere, despite the wishes of the nutjobs. They never did have a very
solid grasp of U.S., or any other, history. And guess who was president when the
CIA destroyed those interroagation tapes? Not Obama.
