San Juan Mayor, Carmen Yulín Cruz, did not mince words on CNN Tuesday night when responding to Donald Trump's latest comments on Puerto Rico. Tuesday morning, while Puerto Rico prepared for another potential hurricane, the president tweeted about the incoming storm, bizarrely asking, "Will it ever end?" and claiming Congress approved $92 billion for the U.S. territory last year.

This tweet left the Mayor asking host John Berman a question of her own, "Will his racism and his vindictive behavior toward the people of Puerto Rico ever end? As you have said, this is not how a president behaves. This is not how a human behaves in the face of adversity."

It is reprehensible that yet again @realDonaldTrump chooses to lie. Will it ever end.? Congress has approved $40 b and $14b have been disbursed. Would it be too much to ask for you to act Presidenatial and do your job without a lie or an insult?

Way early yet and the scale of the map makes it hard to tell, but it looks like a full day to get from the coast to Orlando. That's a lot of rain and wind for a long time.

Who are these Florida people standing on line to buy water and making lines as the gas pumps? Gotta be either "first year" transplants or idiots. Don't they know they're living in a June-November-especially-September hurricane path? Did they not read that part in their "Move to a Sunny Florida Paradise" brochure? We used to keep a supply of "hurricane food" on hand throughout the season, along with 10 or so gallon jugs of tap water that we rotated from time to time. Water some plants, refill the jug. When the storm was still a gleam in the weather chick's eye, we'd top up the cars, put the bug-out bags in one of them. If the storm started coming our way, we'd test-fire the generator, put up the storm covers, put away stuff from the deck/patio and settle in. If it looked like a bad hit (only a couple of time while we lived there), we'd bail out before the roads clogged up with last-minuters. Nothing to panic over if you've got reasonable preparation.

Landfall Tues morning, supposed to be a Cat 4, but plenty of time to become a Cat 5 still.
The "Ensemble" map shows that we'll likely be spared. That right hook is so severe that I'm wondering if one of those rare full circle hurricanes is possible, though the models don't show it yet.
The "Model" map looks like billy.pilgrim might be spared. The rest of FL, otoh . . .
