I don't care where the Panthers practice but this and other business welfare is obscene, just one more way to take taxpayer money and give it to rich people.Carolina Panthers offered $120M to move practice field to SC
The South Carolina Senate has agreed to provide $120 million in tax breaks to the Carolina Panthers to move their practice fields and team headquarters out of North Carolina.
The 27-15 vote Thursday came after contentious debate with several senators questioning whether public money should be given to a billionaire NFL owner and the $3.8 billion proposed economic benefit of the new facility is wildly exaggerated.
The bill, enthusiastically backed by Gov. Henry McMaster, would exempt the Panthers from paying state income taxes for players, coaches and other employees for 15 years as long as they use the money to build their new complex near Rock Hill....

I'd rather have SC roads, bridges repaired. Wonder how SC leaders would feel if they agree to build the "practice" facility, then later the owner decides to move the team to a different city, state. It happens.

Re: NFL Football
Panthers’ first-ever game in the Carolinas was vs. Denver at Clemson
“Good luck Panthers” read the marquee at the Tiger Sports Shop on College Avenue.
Clemson Chamber of Commerce stickers on local restaurants included the Panthers’ inaugural season logo.
A crowd of 57,017 showed up. How strange for fans at Death Valley to cheer for a North Carolina team, and against a team wearing orange jerseys.
Grammy winner Stephanie Mills sang the national anthem. Perry Tuttle, a star wide receiver on Clemson’s 1981 national championship team, delivered the game ball to officials at midfield. The Panthers introduced their mascot. https://www.postandcourier.com/sports/p ... 88ba1.html

Re: NFL Football
The Oakland Raiders probably regret their investment into Antonio Brown already, given that the team is planning to suspend the star wide receiver before the season even begins after he got into some kind of incident/altercation/heated argument with GM Mike Mayock, according to a report from Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Per Vic Tafur of The Athletic, Brown had to be "held back by a couple of teammates" when confronting Mayock. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the incident did not get physical, however Brown did say he would punch Mayock -- his boss!

You're in striking distance for the division, and currently have the #2 wild card slot. Yay and good luck.

CBS and Fox broadcast the Sun. afternoon games. Why is it that only one, alternating, shows a double header?

Googling turns up numerous answers, but none actually make sense to me. Gotta have something to do with who gets paid how much, though.
But in the meantime, the Panthers game comes on at 10:00 a.m. this morning on Fox. CBS has Seahawks at 1:00. Fox has the other afternoon game Cowboys-Giants. Steelers-Patriots on NBC at 5:00.

Here it's:
Los Angeles Rams at Carolina Panthers at 1300 on Fox.
Tennessee Titans at Cleveland Browns at 1300 on CBS.
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys at 1600 on Fox.
I can't imagine why there wouldn't be more money for everyone with 2 double headers, but maybe you're somehow correct.

Re: NFL Football
Because Tennessee is closer, even a bit more so to Spartanburg, SC (CBS)?
I don't mind, I've liked Tennessee's QB Mariota since Oregon and the Browns are better than they used to be. I'm mostly watching the Panthers, anyhow.

Except for McCafferty running over that guy from about 8 feet in the air, Panthers haven't had much for highlights yet. I hope it's a "yet." Opps. Another Rams FG.

Not a good weekend to be a Miami fan, whatever the league.
Marlins fans are happy, though, I guess.
