Impeachment

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Army officer on Trump phone call said it was his 'duty' to report president

Gee, who should I believe on matters of integrity, national security, loyalty and patriotism?

Man, take a look at the official white house Twitter account. It looks like it was hijacked by trump. It's really messed up. How embarrassing.

The President of the United States is insinuating that Democrats are trying to carry out a coup. Watch the doom and gloom ad on his Twitter.

I think we've become so accustomed to the batshitterry over the last few years that we don't think about how insane that is.

If Trump loses the next election, i bet he'll dispute it. Wonder how that's gonna play out?

They're really trying hard to tarnish Vindmans reputation. I didn't hear anything damning in his testimony that made me think he was a shit bag. It was brought up that Ukraine tried to tap him for a defense minister position, but he smacked it down.

The cuckhold political forum, being my bellweather for the dregs of Trumpistani political commentary, has a link posted to some random Twitter user that supposedly served with Vindman, noting unsubstantially that Vindman trashed the USA. If it's on the internet it must be true.

Call me crazy, but I've noticed a peculiar pattern. Anytime someone says something hurtful to Trump, plastic skeletons start falling out of their closests...

Well yeah, that's the pattern. Biden has been basically a flawed boy scout.

This whole thing is about tarnishing his character to win an election because he can't compete characterwise.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Can anyone imagine how big a dickhead Jim Jordan was in high school?

I wonder if he was teased for that squeaky voice?

He was a wrestler. All of that intimate contact with buff young men, nttawwt, might have made him more pleasant to be around.

What strikes me as funny and pathetic is how Nunes uses his time to make references to the Steele Dossier and to the nutjob conspiracy theory that Ukraine meddled in the 2016 election. Instead of using his time to ask questions of the witnesses, he just makes statements that show his fealty to trump and his belief in batshit conspiracy theories. When he gets tired of that lunacy, he starts making disparaging statements about the hearings themselves, referring to them as a "circus" and a "sham" while the whole time the little GOP propaganda posters are on display behind him and his idiot cohorts. When he does ask witnesses questions, they are invariably ones that have no relevance whatsoever; he asks them if they know these people involved in some alleged Democrat conspiracy to illegally investigate the trump campaign or he asks them about if they know about a wingnut theory John Solomon wrote. His other tactic is to whine and moan that the whistleblower and Hunter Biden were witnesses he wanted to call but Schiff refused. Never mind that everything the whistleblower asserted in his report to the IG has been testified to as being correct and never mind the fact that revealing the identity of the whistleblower is against the law and never mind the fact that Hunter Biden never worked for the Ukrainian or US government and has no relevant knowledge of anything related to the issues of the inquiry. How can anyone take this fool seriously? And Jordan is about the same; he makes general and rambling statements asserting his fealty to trump and tries to convince anyone and everyone that the purpose of the impeachment inquiry is to overturn the results of the 2016 election while talking loud and fast as if this makes him more credible or something. These two morons just amaze me with their stupidity.

I just watched Chairperson Rep. Schiff delivever, while hardly referring to his notes:

A recap of what 45SHOLE and his co-conspirators did;
Why it was so awful;
A recap of Repug "defenses";
Why they're so ridiculous;
A comparison to Watergate and how what 45SHOLE and his co-conspirators did is so much worse;
A scathing of the modern Repugs as being so much worse than during Watergate - "Where is the Howard Baker?"
A summary of why this is so important to America AND the world.

Brilliant. Not too long and worth finding on YT.

Nunes might be going down, too.
Lev Parnas Helped Rep. Devin Nunes’ Investigations

Lev Parnas, an indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani, helped arrange meetings and calls in Europe for Rep. Devin Nunes in 2018, Parnas’ lawyer Ed MacMahon told The Daily Beast.

Nunes aide Derek Harvey participated in the meetings, the lawyer said, which were arranged to help Nunes’ investigative work. MacMahon didn’t specify what those investigations entailed.

Nunes is the top Republican on the House committee handling the impeachment hearings—hearings where Parnas’ name has repeatedly come up.

Congressional records show Nunes traveled to Europe from Nov. 30 to Dec. 3, 2018. Three of his aides—Harvey, Scott Glabe, and George Pappas—traveled with him, per the records. U.S. government funds paid for the group’s four-day trip, which cost just over $63,000.

The travel came as Nunes, in his role on the House Intelligence Committee, was working to investigate the origins of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into Russian election-meddling.

Parnas’ assistance to Nunes’ team has not been previously reported. A spokesperson for Nunes did not respond to requests for comment....

Impeach everybody

Lock him up, lock him up.

“student body president of the University of Florida is facing impeachment calls for alleged misuse of funds to bring Donald Trump Jr. and presidential campaign adviser Kimberly Guilfoyle to campus last month

Michael C. Murphy received a formal impeachment resolution on Tuesday for allegedly conspiring with a Trump campaign consultant to bring Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle to the Gainesville campus on Oct. 10, the Tampa Bay Times reports

Those who support Murphy’s removal claim that emails first obtained by the school’s newspaper, the Independent Alligator, show that he agreed to pay the pair $50,000 in publicly funded student activity fees, which would violate rules banning use of the funds to support or oppose political campaigns

By using the student fees to advance his “own expressed political beliefs,” Murphy endangered other students who were “marginalized by the speakers’ white nationalist supporters” and abused his power to advance a political party, according to the impeachment resolution.”
NYT guest op-ed
Why We’re Impeaching Our Student Body President Over Trump Jr.
The president’s son spoke at the University of Florida for a $50,000 fee. We dug deeper.

By Zachariah Chou
Mr. Chou is a Student Government Senator at the University of Florida.

"I consider Donald Trump Jr. to be a barren banana stand in the marketplace of ideas. No one would ever mistake him for an intellectual or accomplished individual, so why pay him even close to such?"

Yeah, I have to hand it to Schiff; if I had to sit next to Devin Nunes for even a few minutes I'd be laughing my ass off. I would even make it a point to let him know I don't "love his ass."

I regret that I am unable to disabuse them of that notion. It would be like how Martin Sheen, in "Apocalypse Now" described Col Kurtz report to the Joint Chiefs after the Colonel came back from his Vietnam observation tour: "They didn't dig what he had to tell them."
