Yes, he was. But strictly speaking, the Colonel only named his thread "Hunting." His actual first post was about weapons. And Bear Hunting, did you miss this? The Doc showed us some heavy hardware, and nobody particularly cared to discuss killing Bambi.
Now, the Colonel seems to be talking about shooting hunters on his property. How did you get this from what I said? My point is I can see where these folks who get shot during hunting season have a death wish. I'd be happy to help him do that, particularly with the availability of the NC "Opps" defence.

It's been a lot more than four years. They did it all through the Clinton years too. And it didn't start there.
These days the NRA is a wing of the Republican party. Fear-mongering over the Democrats is good for both fundraising and campaining. Even if the next Democratic presidential candidate has a strong pro gun rights record like Obama does, you can count on NRA fear mongering in 2016.
