Impeachment

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Pretty simple connection. Reckon leo is just stupid?
"leo"?
Is that your new nickname for 1 FAT CAN? If so, yes, s/he is just stupid in general. However, idk if s/he is specifically stupid here. If my post was an on-point response to hers/his, it's just a funny coincidence. After all, ovine Trumpettes do tend to obediently screech the same whine in unison.

Impeachment report says Mike Pence at least knew of Trump efforts to pressure Ukraine

Locking VP Q-tip up along with convicting and removing POSPOTUS = POTUS Pelosi.
Poor poor cons, they really screwed up this time.

Well, we knew that in all likelihood Pence was at least a passive participant, but this is not good. The only - only - chance of actually removing Trump is is if Pence gets to finish the term. No way in any version of this world are the Repugs going to boot them both and welcome President P-Lo. But if Pence is in line to be President*, there is a possibility of removal of Trump - regardless of what every Repug senator is saying today. Consider - Impeachment charges have not yet been officially presented to the Senate. What possible good would it do a Senator to say, in effect, "I haven't seen the evidence presented yet but I think Trump's guilty." Particularly if you're a Repug, you have absolutely nothing to gain and much to lose by stating anything other than support for Trump at this point. So if a Repug senator thinks really thinks Trump has done no wrong, he'll say so. But even if he thinks Trump is slime and killing the party, he's still going to say Trump has done no wrong. However - when the "trial" gets underway, presided over by John Roberts, and evidence is presented formally to the Senate, it's entirely possible that when votes are counted privately, there may well be enough to toss him. If there are enough solid votes to remove, and the vote goes forward, it will be a major blindside right out of "Survivor" and will be too late for Trump to do much direct damage.

Sure, it's more likely the Repugs will be coerced into voting to keep him, but removal isn't as far out of possibility as the Repugs are saying now.

Maybe a little hyperbole on my part ;) . I don't think there's yet a movement to impeach VP Q-tip. Even if we eventually went that route, I'd be very surprised by simultaneous impeachment trials. More likely would be first 45SHOLE and then VP Q-tip, by which point he would have appointed his own VP.

So, I'll worry about it step-by-step. Meanwhile, I'm all for anything that shames VP Q-tip and weakens potential future POTUS Q-tip.

How can GOP senators serve as impeachment jurors when they're implicated in Trump's misdeeds?
Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Marsha Blackburn are tied to Russian money and Trump's conspiracy theories. They're not alone

... Political action committees for Republican Sens. Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio and Lindsey Graham reportedly accepted $7.35 million in contributions from a Ukrainian-born oligarch with close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin during the 2016 election....

... Reportedly nervous about his wall of defense in the Senate crumbling, the president hosted several GOP senators at the White House, including Johnson, Graham, John Thune of South Dakota and John Kennedy of Louisiana, last week. A day earlier, Thune and Kennedy, had blocked a Democratic bill to provide funding for states to shore up election security. The next day, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., quietly blocked three election-security bills for the second time this year.

“You know, it’s not a good sign if you’re doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result," Blackburn said on the Senate floor late last week. She is among the Republican senators with close ties to a U.S.-sanctioned Russian politician who is accused of illegally channeling Russian funds through the NRA. Under Senate rules, any individual senator can block a vote on a bill.

When Senate Republicans are not prematurely dismissing an impeachment inquiry on which they will probably have to render judgment, they continue to protect Trump’s refusal to clamp down on potential election interference. If Republican charges of a "kangaroo court" are anything, they are a classic case of projection: How can Senate Republicans possibly serve as impartial jurors in a trial of the president, when they are implicated in the same pattern of political malfeasance?

I see my Marsha Blackburn is still getting an honorable mention in the sordid twilight zone world we live in. I sent her a nice email a couple of weeks ago in response to one of her more blatantly stupid periodic bulletins I get from her. The thing was so stupid I even forgot what it was even about; the brain rejection quotient was that high. Anyway, I accused her of being pretty much everything but a white woman. Marsha would take money from a baby while clutching her bible. I may have suggested something along those lines; it's pretty vague. I was worked up.

Congress must take the impeachment report seriously

The facts are clear: President Trump abused his power by pressuring a foreign country to interfere in the 2020 election. He has betrayed his oath of office, betrayed our national security and betrayed the integrity of our elections for his own personal political gain.

Congress must take the impeachment report seriously. It’s time to put facts over partisanship. Use this form to tell your member of Congress that what Trump has done—as outlined in the 300-page report—is clearly an impeachable offense....

I was thinking the other day that if Marsha had the same juvenile mindset and worldview as trump, she would have written back to me. I would enjoy a spirited battle of words with her but I decided that she likely gets a lot of insulting messages and unlike trump, does not feel the need to respond to any of them whereas trump the juvenile cannot let a perceived or blatant insult go unanswered. This is regrettable because I have a whole truckload of veiled as well as blatant insults that can be deployed her way. And they're good ones.

It's not a new thing, and it happens consistently in a lot of countries. They lie, get elected, wreak havoc, rehabilitate their story, get elected again apparently because of vote amnesia or something.
You just described the Obama election and leftist perfectly. Now, they're pissed because their candidate loss the election.

This Isn’t What Progressives Wanted From Impeachment
They feel betrayed, and Democrats’ newly announced support for President Trump’s trade deal isn’t helping.

I agree with the progressives. The ONLY reason that I could see for limiting the scope of the charges when he's committed so many crimes is if they had a few Repugs willing to accept the limited ones. Now, the Dems have run up the white flag on so much, and the America-hating Repugs were always going to unanimously support their fuhrer, regardless.
