Well yeah, that would be me. But I'm not the one who created a really long pre-season and then the only games that matter squeezed into March. Not that I don't enjoy March Madness as much as anybody, but I'll admit - win or lose in December, I don't really care. I think that's one of the things I like about NFL - pretty much every game counts.

It is Kansas’ turn at No. 1 in the Top 25 men’s college basketball poll, while another blueblood — North Carolina — is out for the first time in nearly six years.

The Jayhawks (9-1) moved up one spot to become the fifth team to top the poll in an already wild season. It is the first time the AP poll has had five different No. 1s before New Year’s Day; the record for an entire season is seven, set in 1982-83.

Michigan State, Kentucky, Duke and Louisville have been the other top-ranked teams so far in a year with no dominant team....

Same ugly place as the starters? To be honest, I don't follow the Terps all that closely. Whatever, losing to a Seton Hall playing without its two leading scorers is really bad.

I read the headline wrong. SH was missing players and their bench did stand up. Easy to get complacent when the other team loses a best player.

Sometimes the bench steps up big, especially in basketball. Remember last year when Chuma, Auburn's leading scorer and rebounder, went down before the UNC (March sports are already a blur - one of the last games) game and we won big anyway.

The curse of No. 1 continues as No. 18 Villanova upsets Kansas

Jermaine Samuels finished with 15 points, including a three with less than 20 seconds left on the clock, as No. 18 Villanova became the fifth team this season to knock off the No. 1 team in the country with a 56-55 upset win over Kansas.

Kansas is the fifth team in college basketball to be ranked No. 1 this season. Michigan State opened the year as No. 1 in the AP Poll, but they dropped after losing to Kentucky in the Champions Classic. The Wildcats were No. 1 until they lost at home to Evansville. That’s when Duke climbed into the No. 1 spot, but that only lasted for two weeks before the Blue Devils lost at home to Stephen F. Austin. Louisville was next, but the Cardinals lost to Texas Tech at the Jimmy V Classic after their first week ranked No. 1.

This does not count Ohio State, who was No. 2 in the country and on track to be the top-ranked team when they lost to Minnesota late last Sunday night.

Gonzaga should, presumably, find themselves at No. 1 come Monday morning. It is the first time in college basketball history that five different No. 1 teams have lost before January....
