The car thread ...

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Just because you have the skill and money to build a car, it doesn't mean you should.
I've noted that about other projects I've seen at car shows.

Like this one, that was ugly when it rolled out of the factory, and is still ugly 67 years and thousands of dollars later...

Well, those little hubcaps aren't bad and I kind of like what I assume is a "V8" badge on the front fender. I have to assume both the hubcaps and the badge appear on the passenger side as well. Perfect.

I will guess its intent was to be in a Mad Max movie; that rig beats hell out of the one Humungus had.

Watch this father and son drag-race and crash in NYC’s Lincoln Tunnel
Posting the dashcam footage on social media was not the best idea

What kind of driver is dumb enough to drag race through the Lincoln Tunnel? The same kind who is dumb enough to post dashcam footage of the ensuing crash on Instagram.

The tunnel, which connects Midtown Manhattan and Weehawken, New Jersey, with three two-lane tubes, is usually a traffic-choked nightmare with a 35-mph speed limit. But taking advantage of relatively sparse nighttime traffic, a father and son from Hewitt, New Jersey, drag-raced their Corvettes through the 1.5-mile tunnel. Predictably, this led to a crash, as the younger driver lost control of his car, hitting a vehicle in the adjacent lane, bouncing off the wall, and then taking out an SUV.

The younger driver was originally charged with leaving the scene of an accident, but police re-opened their investigation after he recently posted dashcam footage of the incident on his Instagram page. Now, both drivers have been arrested, and the new charges include reckless driving, reckless endangerment, and illegal speed contest.

Any of you other former MG people ever heard of this model - MG-F?
Not imported to US, but a pretty cool model.

Never heard of it. Looks good. Not so sure about the mid-engine. I've only had one mid-engine - worst handling car I ever drove.

I've never owned a mid-engine, but I was tempted to buy a Lotus once. Until I found out what the insurance was going to be. Roughly the same as the price of the car.

Maybe it had been in a wreck or something; I've never heard that other people had similar experiences, but it didn't like any water on the road. Scarey car.

Sweet ride, but if you can even find parts anywhere in the galaxy the price is outrageous.

Edit: Hah! Posted that here before reading the comments:
Why?? First Dent you get is going to cost you $10 million Imperial Credits to fix it and Don't even get me started on the cost of the Hyperdrive Maintenance. You are better off buying an older ship from Corellian Engineering Corporation. Like the VCX-150 or maybe YT-1300..Better Bang for Your Credits..
Great minds . . .
Why do you need wings in space?
Same reason some pinheads put a rear spoiler on a Honda Accord.
I work on Hyperdrives, you'd be better off looking at a GT-34-R
Porsche, so it costs 8x what a normal spaceship does and does 2x less
......does it have cup holders?
How about seat belts?

Speaking of cars, I bought a cybertruck and I'm really not sure that I know how to spell cybertruck. Went all out and got the 3 motor one that is faster than a Model 3.

Cost me, well it actually is going to cost me the lost interest on $100 for about 2 years - completely, for any reason, refundable deposit.

Then there's always the possibility that prices will go crazy and I can sell my brand new truck for a big profit.

Custom Bugatti that's over the top. I've ordered one of these for myself and will raise the money for it sometime later. Thanks.

Horrendo! I didn't know these things were already available. Consider yourself lucky; and slickety. If I had one of those things I sure would keep it in a garage since its unbreakable windows are susceptible to be broken by someone such as Ernest T Bass or possibly by a guy who "works" as the general manager of a GM dealership. Those guys are pretty vindictive and hate electric motors.
