Can't make this (stuff) up

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

“The way my plate broke in almost even pieces.”
Save that plate; it's perfect for just one slice of pizza and it and its friends would also be handy in beating off some intruder or just menacing some Jehovah's Witnesses. Could also be used as a suicide plate if needed. Neighbors that see it will be envious.
:D Very creative. I'm thinking that the broken one can be used like ninja stars on the Jehovah's Witnesses.
Don't get excited; those plate shards will not serve as a high velocity assault item. Their more practical use would be threats and jerky movements on the Jehovah's or a close up assault on the carotid artery, side torso, or underarm of an adversary. The fact that the shards are white is also a plus; good contrast with the blood and you'll be able to see more of what you're doing.
You have clearly put a lot of thought into standing your ground with Jehovah's Witnesses, nttawwt.
Thanks; I appreciate any accolades for my disdain for the Jehovah Witnesses. My last encounter with them was well over thirty years ago when a pair (they always work in pairs; one witness is worth less than shit) showed up at my door. I swiftly informed them that they were barking up the wrong tree and about to witness the sort of shit they'd been warned to look out for in Witness seminary. Since then I've been on their most wanted list.....as a "witness."

I confirm that our homes are marked. I use to get them every month or two. I always just refused their handouts and shooed them away, until one day, can't say if I was having a bad day or a good day, but when I answered the door there was a family of them there, two were tweens.
I must have been stoned, because I felt for those kids. I saw them turning into big jumping jehovahs and I looked them straight in the eyes and told them that above all else they have to escape and get a real education. I was still explaining how they had been indoctrinated to believe lies as the stunned open mouthed parents rushed them away.

I have moved twice since and I still see them knocking on my neighbor's doors, but whatever system they used to mark my house has followed me through two moves.

That is terrible; that particular cell must have an affinity for your former street. There must be some significant religious symbolism or just plain religious gimcracks on that street. Glad you got away from there. And, yeah, too bad about those kids; hopefully they came to their senses eventually. I've found that the best thing to discourage these waterheads is to have a devil mask; the highest quality one can afford. The look of sheer horror and fear on their faces when you answer the door and grin at them is worth the price of the mask.

Congressman defends posting fake Obama photo: 'No one said this wasn't photoshopped'

A Republican congressman who tweeted a picture of former President Barack Obama shaking hands with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani Monday defended it as making a valid point after commenters pointed out that the two had never met in person.

In his original post, Paul Gosar proclaimed, “The world is a better place without these guys in power.” Rouhani is still Iran’s president.
:confusion-scratchheadblue:
Gosar, a former dentist who now represents Arizona’s rural Fourth District, defended posting the doctored image, writing, “no one said this wasn’t photoshopped.” But his original post did not indicate that it was faked....
:obscene-birdiered:

It’s only January 7, 2020 and Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ4) has already won lie of the year and is a strong contender for lie of the decade.

"Dad of 4 who worked as chemist accused of cannibalizing his Grindr date"

Victim's name was Kevin Bacon.

(perp)"Latunski let police into his home Dec. 28 to look for Bacon." (and donuts, too, probably)

In what Kaiser described as a “secret room,” they found the man dead.

Latunski told police he stabbed Bacon twice in the back of his neck, then strung him up and sliced his throat, Kaiser said.

He confessed that he castrated Bacon with a knife and ate his testicles, Kaiser said.

Those goddamn Russians are liable to do pretty much anything. I wouldn't be surprised if Rudy isn't involved in this somehow. He looks like he'd enjoy a plate of balls.

Gigi Hadid Is a Potential Juror for Harvey Weinstein’s New York Sexual Assault Trial

... The 24-year-old model was called to Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday, along with 120 other potential jurors, CNN reported, to serve in the trial for the disgraced film producer.

Hadid told the judge that she had previously met Weinstein, as well as potential witness Salma Hayek, but said, “I think I’m still able to keep an open mind on the facts,” according to Buzzfeed News.

Hadid was one of 35 people remaining as potential jurors that were asked to fill out a questionnaire and return to court on Thursday, CNN reported....
Wow, they actually stumbled on a way to make this more of a media circus than it's already going to be.

What are the odds that she makes the final cut? I would have guessed slim, not even making the first cut like she did. Now, who knows? Defense or prosecution, no way would I reject her.

She will be excused on the grounds of previous modeling engagements in another country or due to the possibility that Harvey will stumble over to her on his walker during a recess and attempt to get a blow job.

#1. She says that she's not trying to get excused and wants to serve. If true, good for her.
#2. Possible, but his act worked better on starlets that weren't already wealthy and famous, and that he could bribe or bully.

Without regard to her beauty or fame, when it became known that she had met Weinstein sometime in the past and was friends with one of his accusers, her civic service was doomed.

Should have been in the first cuts rather than making her come back.

Now, it is possible that her advisors accurately told her that there was no way that she would end up on the jury, so that she should do and say the things that made for good PR.

Ah, that's true. But you initially seemed to doubt my prediction that she would not be seated as a juror. I had no doubt she would not be. The excuse of foreign modeling shoots or previously scheduled obligations just was the first thing that popped into my head. In general, it's not likely anyone famous or infamous will be empaneled as a juror in any trial. It just presents a distraction that nobody wants or needs.

Sorry if that's the impression that I gave. I only meant to doubt your speculation that the excuse for not seating her would come from her. I am not surprised at all that the lawyers on both sides gave her the boot.

Ah, mea culpa for me. I thought you were intimating that she would be a juror. I rest my case and retire to the bar.

U.S. Diplomat's Wife Flees UK As Police Suspect Her In Fatal Hit-And-Run

... British Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab said in a statement that he has contacted U.S. Ambassador Woody Johnson “to express the U.K.’s disappointment with their decision, and to urge the Embassy to re-consider it.” ...
Woody Johnson?! Well, it does sound like he's being a real Dick Dick over this tragedy.
I hope Woody isn't 6'6" 290lbs who had the nickname "Big" when he was just a kid. Pretty shitty of the wife to flee the country after this. Perhaps the British legal system is not like ours, in which being innocent is expensive and you have to decide beforehand how innocent you want to be. When I got back to the US after almost three years in Japan, for a month or so I found myself on the wrong side of the road when making turns. But I never crashed or hit anything and did not have diplomatic immunity.
Update: After POSPOTUS abused the parents by trying to surprise them with a meeting with their son's murderer, there's:

White House and U.S. official's wife sued over teen's death in U.K.

POSPOTUS detests personal and national accountability.
US denies extradition request for Anne Sacoolas, diplomat's wife who allegedly hit, killed British teen

POSPOTUS, Pompeo and Trumpettes have a long history of shunning all personal responsibility, and of their being fine with driving a wedge between the US and our longterm allies on behalf of Putin.

I hope that the UK tries her in absentia, convicts her, and files a warrant with Interpol. Keep her from ever traveling abroad again, and perhaps also wreck her co-conspirator husband’s career.
