When trump is talking in public and especially at his pep rallies he often holds his fingers in that configuration sort of out to the side of the middle of his grotesque body. My favorite is when he's caught in a photo with has mouth looking like an asshole though.

I don't know about 45SHOLE, but I just learned that the other White supremacists use what we used to think of as the 'OK' sign because the fingers form a 'W' and a 'P' - White power.

Yeah, I saw that explanation on the network news this evening. Those boys sure are clever, aren't they? I'll stick with the middle finger if any of them flash me; it's not likely to be misinterpreted. But watch trump next time you see him on video; he makes a very similar gesture quite often.

I can't speak for 2019 (I still haven't watched) but it was all over the news several times since trump. There was even a staffer who flashed it during a senate confirmation, there are a few photos of Carter Page and other trumpites - let me think about it = there were more

This is how Meadows likely thinks; "Now that I've got national exposure and made a name for myself I can do even more damage more quickly on a local and state level than I could have ever hoped for in Congress." This assumes enough nutjobs will let him get away with it. I figure there's a 70% chance he's right; there are enough nutjobs to facilitate his plan.

You'd find a way to subtly point in the direction of your crotch, and if you caught somebody seeing your hand, they'd be "bagged." Been seeing this meme pop up a lot lately.

I find stuff like this worrisome. I think there's an inherit danger in lumping an entire group of people together in a derisive, dismissive, manner. Now, I understand we use concepts to "lump things together" all the time. We categorize and label things to facilitate communication. That's how language works. But I think potential problems arise when we begin to apply negative associations to entire groups of people. Its easy for that to slip into feelings of superiority, prejudice and outright hate for an said group, irrespective of the individual.

Well, we've already passed the 1933 point; trump has been elected. I was referring to how the cult of followers, as well as the gaggle of mostly silent "establishment" Republicans (modern day "good Germans") hold rabid belief in their cult leader while at the same time slowly converting others to the cause and virulently attacking anyone who isn't in the cult. Divide and conquer, as it were. After seeing the trump rally in NC last night with the "send her back" chants, my feeling about the parallels between the rise of Nazis and the trump phenomenon are even more evident. The way I see it, trump is the one who hates his country; he expends massive effort and resources to avoid serving his country as a young man, and throughout his adult life he expends massive effort and resources to ensure he pays little or no tax on his income. On top of that, he does all he can to eliminate environmental regulations in favor of industrial profit; even establishes an extension of the Department of the Interior out in CO so that the land rapers out west will be closer to the "officials" that will allow them to begin using public lands for private profit. All this, to me, and to most intelligent people, provides pretty strong evidence that trump is the one who hates his country. He is more of a threat to our country than anything else as far as I'm concerned. It's pathetic that it has gone this far.

Arguing elsewhere I happened to look up MN 5. It's a very solid blue district, the several Repugs running have no chance. Then, if this article is to be believed there are no consequential Dems running. I was surprised to learn that despite the screeching about Somali immigrants taking over, MN 5 is only 17% Black and many of those are clearly not immigrants.

Congrats on your 2020 victory, Rep. Ilhan Omar, 45SHOLE winning and the Repugs keeping a Senate majority are nowhere near as certain.
