CNNB Breaking News
President Barack Obama issued a direct warning to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday over that country's stockpiles of chemical weapons, warning their use "would be totally unacceptable," and vowing there would be consequences if such weapons were used.
Wonder if Assad got his chems from the same place Saddam did or they actually came from Saddam.

So, 94.4% from Germany, France, the UK and Spain. The US is grouped with a bunch of other countries as "other."All told, 52% of Iraq's international chemical weapon equipment was of German origin. France also provided glass-lined reactors, tanks, vessels, and columns used for the production of chemical weapons. Around 21% of Iraq’s international chemical weapon equipment was French. 75,000 shells and rockets designed for chemical weapon use also came from Italy. About 100 tons of mustard gas also came from Brazil. The United States exported $500 million of dual use exports to Iraq that were approved by the Commerce Department. Among them were advanced computers, some of which were used in Iraq’s nuclear program. The United Kingdom paid for a chlorine factory that was intended to be used for manufacturing mustard gas. Austria also provided heat exchangers, tanks, condensers, and columns for the Iraqi chemical weapons infrastructure, 16% of the international sales. Singapore gave 4,515 tons of precursors for VX, sarin, tabun, and mustard gasses to Iraq. The Dutch gave 4,261 tons of precursors for sarin, tabun, mustard, and tear gasses to Iraq. Egypt gave 2,400 tons of tabun and sarin precursors to Iraq and 28,500 tons of weapons designed for carrying chemical munitions. India gave 2,343 tons of precursors to VX, tabun, Sarin, and mustard gasses. Luxembourg gave Iraq 650 tons of mustard gas precursors. Spain gave Iraq 57,500 munitions designed for carrying chemical weapons. In addition, they provided reactors, condensers, columns and tanks for Iraq’s chemical warfare program, 4.4% of the international sales. China provided 45,000 munitions designed for chemical warfare.

No one but nutjobs gullible enough to fall for the Bush dog and pony show "knew" that Saddam had chemical weapons.Reality wrote:What's your point Vred? The world knew Saddam had chems but they magically disappeared. Where did they go?
Most of Iraq's chemical weapons were destroyed in 1991. U.S. inspectors said, after the second war, that Iraq had given up on WMD's much earlier. Saddam admitted that he had no WMD's. The British helped destroy the very last remnant just this year.
For the gullible conspiracists, why on earth would Saddam give WMD's to another country? That's just stupid.

Just another example of Obama apologizing and bowing to every other country, in a desperate attempt to make us all look weak.

Don't really care it's past us now. The thing to do would be to figure out how to fix it, but most libs are stuck more then a decade behind and for some reason keep forgetting Obama is POTUS.Vrede wrote:Some Dems were fooled, others weren't. First name Dingle said "Saddam admitted that he had no WMD's. The British helped destroy the very last remnant just this year."
Hmm...let's see. Mr integrity, Saddam, admitted he had no WMD's but yet the Brits destroyed the last remnants after he said that.
Vred since you're the expert. What was Saddam's chem inventory before Desert Storm and how many were destroyed thereafter? Is there a "0" balance?
Did you check out Wgnl's link of nut job's? Where did they go when they finally got a President who carried out what they ask Slick Willie to do?

While most of Saddam's WMDs were destroyed after Desert Storm, no-one disagreed that some WMD materials were still left over.Reality wrote:Hmm...let's see. Mr integrity, Saddam, admitted he had no WMD's but yet the Brits destroyed the last remnants after he said that.
However:
This is what the Brits were destroying. From the same link:...the WMDs Saddam had in his possession all those years ago, if retained, would have long since turned to harmless substances. He stated that Iraqi Sarin and tabun have a shelf life of approximately five years, VX lasts a bit longer (but not much longer), and finally he said botulinum toxin and liquid anthrax last about three years.
The report stated that "Coalition forces have recovered approximately 500 weapons munitions which contain degraded mustard or sarin nerve agent." However, all are thought to be pre-Gulf War munitions.
[...]
The munitions addressed in the report were produced in the 1980s, Maples said. Badly corroded, they could not currently be used as originally intended, though agent remaining in the weapons would be very valuable to terrorists and insurgents

Whatever the Dems said, Dumbya the Chicken Hawk was the only one stupid enough to
start a war. Saddam was cagey about WMDs because while he didn't have them he wanted
his regional enemies to think he did.
