Covid-19 Safe Greetings

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Which works out well, since that means they won't dip into the two thousand cans of Vienna sausages I stockpiled to tide me over till the apocalypse passes.
No Spam?
gotta have spam; some sardines and a few cans of those tiny smoked oysters from china would all make for some kinda fine eating alongside the corn dogs, fried spam and beer.
Wash it all down with a swig of grape drink from the dollar store. The sugar water us poors drank as kids. The stuff that gave us all diabetes by age 11.

Wait... I wonder if I can turn some grape drink into wine...?

It will kill the yeast
Wait I think you're onto something here.

Yeast is microscopic. So is the corona-virus.

If grape drink kills yeast, perhaps it'll also kill the Corona virus?

Yeah, but probably kill the host first.

We seem to have stumbled upon a cure.

Actually we have discovered 2 cures. It's on another thread, but the Russian cure seems to hold promise.

Don't tell any of those fools that Ravens and Crows are members of the corvid family. They'll be out trying to shoot them all for causing the virus.

I keep seeing press conferences with an unnecessarily large number of officials and experts at the daises, many in the at-risk age group, all standing closer than the 6' social distance that they're recommending :angry-banghead: . It's not just that it's a risk for them and the agencies they will return to and we need functional. It's also that the subliminal message they're delivering contradicts the verbal one :headscratch: .

I'll bet that the reporters and camera people, who could use 'pool reporting', instead, are also too crowded into the briefing rooms.

And meanwhile, the TV news people, who probably are well-checked and protected, sit on either end of their desk, with two using the space usually allocated for 3 or sometimes 4. Weather chick and sports guy have to stand over by themselves. I think that's sending the right message.

But hey - if Trump and his cronies get the virus and kick over, who's to complain?

But if they're Repugs, do we care?
And yes, I may be joking a little, but we seriously have to get these people out of office. Vote them out first choice. But if they die off from virus, so be it. No tears from me.

The Asheville authorities, who I see more of on TV than Hooterville's, and the state authorities are both mostly Dem :( .

I'm okay with the SC press conferences ;) .

More seriously, I'm mostly bugged by the mixed messages being sent to the public. If they want people to listen it's a perfect opportunity to lead by example.

Greenville closed all bars and restaurants except for take out. Also, all public events are cancelled through May 10.

Mixed messages continue, even from the well-intentioned:

Keep 6 feet away from everyone.
Use elbow bump instead of handshake.

That's some loooong arms there.

guy elbow bumps trump and Bernie and Joe bump elbows on national tv

Quick, everybody shelter in place and don't let's your dog get her feet on the pavement or she'll track the virus inside, but stock up on supplies.

In case you guys were wondering, pot stores remain open.

By order of San Diego County, retail cannabis stores remain open at this time.

San Francisco County considers cannabis “essential” at this time. Lounges are closed. Physical distancing required. Pre-orders online encouraged. Delivery services report being open.

Also, Nevada closed down all "non-essential" business, and included the state's biggest industry and second leading source of taxes (casinos) as non-essential, along with restaurants, other entertainment venues, etc. They listed examples of "essential" like grocery, pharmacy, banks, etc. Interesting though that neither in the essential nor non-essential lists did they mention legal sex workers.

What about pet stores? I need to load up on more bags of cat kibble and canned food for mamacat and the ferals...
Tough call. I have 50 lbs of flour and meal, 20 frozen chickens, 30 cans of mackerel and a pressure cooker.

Does Amazon still deliver?
