You've got a point. Just because a lot of people vote for you doesn't mean you're not an idiot.

Re: Weather in NC
Not quite NC, but we had some kind of upside down snow coming off the gulf this morning. Ice crystals were rising off the water in a frozen fog.
21 this a.m. at the beach. Last year it never went below freezing. No bananas this year.

Freeze warning as far south as N Ft. Myers and inland. We're expected to be 38ish for a low in Naples. Panic ensues.

This thing with the gulf is weird. The steam rising off the water is freezing into crystals and sort of floating up and down on the warm air rising from the warm water.

My Grandmother said, January thunder means May snow. We did have May snow after January thunder when I lived one farm over from her - middle tenn, late 70s
She could tell the weather, but tenn is way easier than pensacola

It was to keep the front end from sliding around.Ulysses wrote: ↑Thu Mar 19, 2020 2:54 amIn the early 70's I bought a used '64 Corvair Monza. I think it had some steering issues. In any case I put the largest boulder I could lift into the front trunk, and that helped keep the darn thing going straight in a crosswind. I only had it a month; after it nearly jackknifed in a panic stop (and I've seen others do that) I sold it for a slight loss. I had no money to fix it and really didn't need a car at the time (but it would have been nice).O Really wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2017 8:35 pmBalance, would be my guess - also more weight on front wheels for steering. I never owned one of those beetles, but I knew people who did. They never got stuck, no matter what.Sometime Lefty wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2017 8:24 pmHow does putting weight in the front of a rear wheel drive VW make it good to go?billy.pilgrim wrote: ↑Mon Dec 11, 2017 2:33 pm
but none of them are pre 80s vw beetles. you just let a little air out of the tires, fill the gas tank and throw a 94 lb bag of Portland under the hood - good to go.
I've driven Beetles a bit, and they handled a lot better than that Monza. In fairness, however, the Monza probably needed front end work.
Oh, and winter's over. Lows have been in the 70s

Our highs are now back up to the 70s, lows still in the 50s.

We're still enjoying part of "it never rains in Southern California", but unfortunately it's the "it pours, man it pours" part.
