Help walmart strikers!

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

I don't know what kind of pancake mix my mother used. Could have been Aunt Jemima. I know
she sometimes used the syrup. I like pancakes but they fill me up. Oatmeal. Yuck. When I was
a kid she'd make it for breakfast and then go back up to bed. I'd bag it and toss it.

I think Col. Thorny has hit on something--his ignorance of terms and symbols that most
people are familiar with is due to his being out of touch. I'd buy that.

"I never thought of it as being about race either so we must be out of touch."

Along with "honest injun" and "chinaman's chance." Hopefully "fighting Irish" will hang tough.

Even MrB.'s favorite Aunt Jemima has been updated since it's racially stereotyped images of yore. Like I said, times change, ideas evolve, people learn. OK, some people learn.

Please show me where ghetto is referred to blacks you liar. I have never seen such a definition, you see them that way which is why you are a RACIST.

Already did, dumbass. Go back and read the thread again.

It's not my fault that you're too ignorant to be aware of modern connotations of a word that you use, nor is it my fault that you're too frickin' illiterate to read plain and simple English.

Why would I look in the mirror ass hole it was VRED who stereotyped them as a Pimp and Whore not me. Lie and deny something you just can't avoid can ya. Or like a good little liberal you are just keep saying the same lie and maybe it will come true.

Wow, you really are that stupid, aren't you? As has been explained to you before, the picture was a PhotoShop entered in a contest where you were supposed to make everyone look like pimps.

Here's the original picture:

Image

The pimp and ho picture was a PhotoShop where the Obamas were adorned with garish outfits to make them look like a pimp and his whore. Only you, in all the world, are too stupid to recognize that.

This image originated as a May 2009 entry in a Worth1000.com Photoshop contest, one entitled If Pimps Ruled. The gist of the contest was:

[In] this contest, your task is to show us what the world would be like if it were ruled by pimps and players. In other words, depict mundane ordinary people and things -- doctors, grandparents, videogames, etc., if the world were run by pimps (and everyone was one).

The rules of the game are thus: Show what the world would look like if it were ruled by pimps and players. You can depict people, things (i.e. a tricked out funeral home) basically anything in a world where pimps rule.
http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/photos/whball.asp

I'm typing this really, really slowly. The man who PhotoShopped the picture did so to enter it in a contest where you were supposed to "show what the world would be like if it were ruled by pimps and players." The man intentionally made the couple look like a pimp and his whore.

Vrede didn't stereotype them, dumbass. You did. You stereotyped blacks by claiming that when they dress up nicely, they wear pimp and ho outfits.

But you're way too stupid to ever understand that.

The only things that are obvious are your stupidity, your illiteracy, your stubbornness, and your willful ignorance. Or maybe that's just your stupidity.

Nowhere have I mentioned any hatred of any race. That's just your stupidity and faulty reasoning in action.

YOU referred to Ghetto as being Black no one else but you!

Other people, along with the definitions I posted, pointed out the modern American connotation that "ghetto" usually refers to urban black. There's nothing racist about pointing out a fact.

I can say that redneck generally refers to rural whites. No slur there. Just pointing out reality.

Just like there was nothing racist about Vrede pointing out that "kike" is an ethnic slur.

Pointing out reality isn't racist.

Again, nowhere have I mentioned any hatred of race . . . although your stubborn stupidity's starting to give me a little trouble with white people.

That's just your stupidity and faulty reasoning in action.

Resurrecting an old thread. Changed the subject. Black Friday/Walmart strikers is a dead issue.

But, I agree with your assessment: bastards.

Why do so many wingnuts cheer for us to become a third world country with wages and working conditions rivaling China and other developing countries? (China might not exactly deserve the term, but their wages and working conditions are comparable.)

Even if they survive with some sort of middle class wage, their children and grandchildren will inherit the minimum-wage, non-full-time, no-benefits jobs of the future.

Nothing much has changed since the textile industry moved from New England to southern states looking for lower pay, weaker (or non-existent) unions and laissez faire state regulations. They were scum-bags then, they are scum-bags now. It's just that the availability of slave labor has gone international.

The Walmart Tax Every American Taxpayer Pays

... According to a 2014 report by Americans for Tax Fairness, Walmart receives an estimated $6.2 billion in subsidies every year, primarily from the Federal Government.

The reason? The world’s largest retailer, infamous for its poor working conditions and unfair treatment of employees, pays its workers so little that thousands of Walmart employees are forced to rely on public assistance programs like food stamps, Medicaid and subsidized housing. Programs funded by American taxpayers.

No matter the town or city, if you have a Walmart in your community, you are paying a Walmart Tax. In fact, a single Walmart Supercenter is estimated to cost taxpayers between $904,542 and $1.74 million per year in public assistance money.

For Walmart, this represents tens of millions of dollars in savings, all on the backs of America’s taxpayers and workers....
Private profit, socialized costs.

Subsidizing job-exporting Walmart should infuriate all taxpayers . . . and former taxpayers that would like to see that government bennies for retirees, the elderly, the sick and veterans remain intact.

We understand the "Walmart tax," but don't expect it to catch on as a wide concern. Too "complicated" of a concept for the average Trump voter. They would only say "well, at least they have jobs - they'd still be on the dole without Walmart" and never consider that a lot of the reason there aren't other jobs around is that Walmart killed them.
