The Religion Thread

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Didn't enjoy your weekend, gotta get out the house and enjoy this pleasant weather with your family.
Here's your "Christian" idol wishing you and your family a "happy" Good Friday. Enjoy, cultist.

Happy Easter.

Beautiful song.

Death could not hold You, the veil tore before You
You silenced the boast of sin and grave
The heavens are roaring the praise of Your glory
For You are raised to life again

You have no rival, You have no equal
Now and forever, God, You reign
Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the glory
Yours is the Name above all names

What a powerful Name it is
What a powerful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King

On a similar Resurrection theme, The Walking Dead has a new episode airing this Sunday!

Coincidence or not?
Praise Zombie Jesus. :-||

... I saw ( Jesus Christ Superstar ) in the early 70s in a MD dinner theater. Then, I was in the chorus of it in the late 80s. I was also an understudy apostle, but never an apostle in the show. Big, big production, 125? cast including 40? kids, tiered stage so that we could all appear and disappear in seconds, 350 seat theater, 10 shows including 2 on Easter Sunday. Great experience. I'd long been an atheist, but was still moved to tears each crucifixion.

We had an alcoholic Herod. He was brilliant and wickedly funny, but we were never completely sure that he'd show up and be able to perform. I even went to collect him for one rehearsal. It was kinda perfect.
"moved to tears" by the power of our production and getting into my role, not like I had a religious conversion.

Before the Easter matinee I told the cast how I usually spent my Easters protesting at the ICBM-controlling AFB in our state and how my friends and others were there while we were putting on our show. I invited anyone that wanted to join me in a silent circle in solidarity with them. Well over half of the adult cast did so, and many thought that it was one of the better shows that we did. I guess there was an afternoon where I literally was a "Superstar Cultmaster" :D .

Happy Good Friday everyone, I almost can't wait for the good times on Pearl Harbor Day.

but at least he appoints anti-abortion judges, right kitty? He could tell a story about Beelzebub spending 40 days in the desert or rising from the grave and you would still be "All In".

Meh; trump doesn't even do that (appoint "pro life" judges). He is just given a list of judges by someone at the Heritage Foundation, closes his raccoon eyes, and points to one. If trump had his way, he'd appoint Hannity, Ingraham, Carlson, and Dobbs as federal judges. As far as I know, federal judges don't even have to be lawyers. trump likely does not know this.

Noah got blind ass drunk for nearly two thirds of this voyage, went way off course, and a few animals decided they weren't going to sail with him.

I did that a couple of times when I got picked up by drunks while hitchhiking. Anyhow, thanks, you save me from watching to solve the mystery.

Were any of those drivers named Noah? If so, you were lucky to get the hell away from them, thus being able to evolve successfully.

Maybe, it was a miracle that they weren't already dead. No animals, though.

We had a hitchhiker beg us to pull over and let him out. Looking back, I can't say that I blame him. I think it was our trying to pass (maybe we did) a joint to another car on 1-85 outside Atlanta.

Yeah, we couldn't believe he didn't wanna hang with us. we were on our way to the Union Grove Fiddlers Convention at a top speed of about 50 mph in a hand painted 53 chevy panel truck with close to a pound of homegrown and several pints of home canned mushrooms. What could possibly have gone wrong?

Belushi was better in the Blues Brothers. James Brown wasn't bad either.
