I've been a student of politics for a long time, and I think the last time the strategy was this poor was Goldwater's ill-fated effort back in '64. There have been blow-outs that are worse, such as McGovern and Dukakis, but there were more significant contributors to those flushings than strategy. Well, maybe McGovern overestimated the young anti-war demo, but that was still a long time ago. Nobody that started with the apparent advantage that the Republicans had this time has ever blown it so badly. Keep it up, guys...we luvya!Vrede wrote: Leaving aside for the moment the moral questions re a party being nearly exclusively white and male, why would anyone support a party with such a failure of a political strategy?
