You fail context, you poor illiterate and wussy thing. Actually, it's our governor that's more sane than Kemp - we still have a Repug Leg - but feel free to make the case that Kemp is better, Repug. This should be good. Don't cower from the challenge like you always do.

Awww vred, if you really want to say that you weren't talking about the virus spread, then I'll say that I was wrong.

But you did seem to be making a point about how these good/bad states are performing. Even though my bad state has a lot lower percentage than your good state example of Michigan

Wrong thread. I am not going to respond here since the crystal clear post that has you so tragically befuddled (or pathetically lying) is here:
viewtopic.php?p=118090#p118090

More importantly, you're desperately trying to move the discussion away from the correct thread because you screwed up so royally with your idiotic and paranoid "DeSantis fanboy" accusation, and you don't have the balls to be accountable for it:

Wussy projection. It's obvious to everyone that switching threads was your cowering from your huge "DeSantis fanboy" screw up, and that my original link and post on the topic were exclusively about what governors have done, not the multi-factor state results that you're deliberately muddying the issue with.

Dude, YOU got it bad, real bad. You really ought to contemplate how often the things you're throwing tantrums over are the result of your rotten comprehension skills.

Guaranteed: This will be yet another obvious major screw up that billy.pilgrim will never have the balls to admit.

Sweden’s non-lockdown choice, with heavy protection for vulnerable populations, is being discussed a lot. It says that it’s reducing economic and social disruption while getting inevitable deaths out of the way now rather than later, and achieving ‘herd immunity’ sooner. At the moment its body count is far higher than neighboring Norway and Finland.

Hard to say about the rest, but I think their mortality calculus is faulty. It doesn’t allow for improvements in therapies and a possible vaccine. We’ll see.

A tale of two states. Crowded beaches =
California to close all beaches, state parks amid coronavirus concerns: memo

California Governor Gavin Newsom will announce on Thursday the closure of all beaches and parks in the state amid concerns over the coronavirus pandemic after crowds jammed beaches last weekend, according to a memo seen by Reuters....

"After the well-publicized media coverage of overcrowded beaches this past weekend, in violation of Governor Newsom's Shelter in Place Order, the Governor will be announcing tomorrow that ALL beaches and all state parks in California will be closed, effective Friday, May 1st," the memo read....
Florida governor announces plans to reopen state

... But before DeSantis released any details, he took a swipe at the "doom and gloom" media and critics who faulted him for the state's slow response to the unfolding crisis.

"A lot has been done to promote fear," DeSantis said. "We haven't seen an explosion of new cases."

That having been said, 83 people died in Florida from the coronavirus Tuesday, the biggest spike in daily deaths since the pandemic started....

DeSantis' announcement came as 350 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Wednesday in Florida, along with 47 new deaths, bringing the state's virus-related death toll to 1,218. More than 5,400 people remain hospitalized with COVID-19, according to the state Health Department.

And it came after DeSantis touched base with President Donald Trump during an Oval Office meeting....
The article doesn't link the "83 people died" as it does the "47 new deaths" statement. I can't explain the discrepancy, but I left the former in since it might be accurate. It may or may not be explained by this:
Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Times reported that Florida officials have stopped releasing the list of coronavirus deaths being compiled by county medical examiners, "which has at times shown a higher death toll than the state's published count."

DeSantis, a Republican and staunch Trump supporter, had been widely criticized for refusing to quickly clear the beaches of visitors and issue stay-at-home orders.

DeSantis also undermined the Hillsborough County sheriff's efforts to stop a renegade mega-church pastor from holding Sunday services and endangering thousands of worshippers.

Rodney Howard-Browne wound up abandoning his plans to reopen The River at Tampa Bay Church on Easter after he was dropped by his insurance company.
 :---P God acts in mysterious ways :angel4: .
Currently, the DeSantis administration is taking flak for the state's balky Unemployment Assistance program, which critics like Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber say "was essentially set up, unfortunately, to be stingy, to be cumbersome and to not really give out employment checks."

"The state of Florida has been really unforgivable when it comes to unemployment benefits," Gelber said Wednesday on MSNBC. "Our city is, you know, organizing food lines and such, like a lot of cities across America. It's heartbreaking to see the number of people online because they can't afford a meal or need food for their family."
Note: DeSantis and O Really say that the Unemployment Assistance fiasco is Rick Scott's fault. billy.pilgrim says that it began with Jeb Bush.

As I recall, Jeb! did get started on curtailing the system, renaming and reorganizing departments, etc., but I'm pretty sure it was Scott that really and intentionally screwed it up with a $78 million new system that had a purpose of making it more difficult to file, easier to reject claims, and shortening of benefits. But hey - I don't mind any Republican sharing blame for the debacle - including DeSantis who as I recall didn't mention "improvement in the messed up unemployment system" as one of his campaign goals.

correct

Increased paperwork, employment search demands, they both did it.

Scott even started requiring drug testing (if memory serves) to benefit his company that he sorta kinda turned over to his wife.

Might be tempting and we are seeing/may see some harsh enforcement, but this is about more than just protests. SIYFH orders have always relied on the agreement with and cooperation by the people. Once that's lost, it may not matter whether folks are gathering for demos or not. They can do as much harm with scattered BBQs and block parties.

"Protester" pics are more fun for the media that shots of people staying in their house, but really it's not many people here. Orange County beaches got out of hand because they were the only show around, and now they've been shut back down again, resulting in the complaints. But live and on the ground, people are widely supporting the SIYFH order.
