No surprise that Dolt .45 is gutting “Intelligence”, nor that Putin’s Agent Orange is hampering our national security.Demands for Trump to explain recent purge of intelligence staff including watchdog overseeing coronavirus stimulus package
... Intelligence community IG Michael Atkinson, who alerted Congress to the whistleblower complaint that triggered impeachment proceedings, was fired late on Friday night. Glenn Fine, the Pentagon's acting inspector general slated to oversee the $2trn coronavirus stimulus bill, was fired on Monday.
Mr Schiff also requested information about reductions to the staff of the National Counterterrorism Center, including Acting Director Russell Travers and Acting Deputy Director Peter Hall....
It sounds like Richard Grenell was named acting Director of National Intelligence specifically to protect permanent DNI nominee John Ratcliffe from taking and then being accountable for the difficult and detestable actions that childishly vengeful PINO is demanding. That’s how wussy the lifelong cowardly Chickenhawk in Chief is.

Ummm, she also spent "8 years with the" Shrub Administration and 3 "years with the" PINO Administration*. That's our CiC - Crybaby in Chief - always blaming someone.Trump Chooses Replacement For Top HHS Official Who Embarrassed Him
Last month, the president suggested a report on hospital supply shortages released by the department’s watchdog was “her opinion.”
President Donald Trump moved to replace the Department of Health and Human Services’ watchdog Friday evening, nearly a month after publicly blasting her at a press conference after she released a report on nationwide medical supply shortages.
Principal Deputy Inspector General Christi Grimm, a career official, determined in early April that U.S. hospitals were alarmingly underprepared for the coronavirus crisis ― an assessment based on interviews with administrators for 323 hospitals across 46 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico conducted between March 23 and 27.
Hospitals were struggling to obtain enough protective equipment for staff, including thermometers to take their temperatures, in addition to ventilators, IV poles and beds for patients.
“It’s just wrong,” Trump said of the report at an April 6 coronavirus task force briefing. He quickly pivoted to attack the source of the report, asking, “Where did he come from, the inspector general? What’s his name? No, what’s his name? What’s his name?”
Later, after learning the inspector was a woman, Trump said: “It still could be her opinion. When was she appointed? Do me a favor and let me know. Let me know now. I have to know.”
Grimm began her career at the inspector general’s office in 1999 and assumed her current role in January. After the news conference, former HHS Inspector General Dan Levinson defended her, saying she “is a highly respected career senior executive.”
“Nothing in her longstanding career of public service would suggest otherwise,” Levinson said.
Trump also attacked Grimm in a tweet, due to the fact that her two-decades-long career meant she had served under the Obama administration. The president declared her report politically biased and suggested Grimm should have talked to “the Admirals, Generals, V.P. & others in charge” instead of people working at hospitals across the country....Donald J. Why didn’t the I.G., who spent 8 years with the Obama Administration (Did she Report on the failed H1N1 Swine Flu debacle where 17,000 people died?), want to talk to the Admirals, Generals, V.P. & others in charge, before doing her report. Another Fake Dossier!

HHS official Rick Bright says he was ousted after raising concern about coronavirus drug Trump had touted
A vaccine expert who said he was ousted after raising concerns about a drug President Donald Trump touted as a potential treatment for coronavirus filed a whistleblower complaint Tuesday alleging longstanding political influence at the Department of Health and Human Services.
Rick Bright, who until recently served as director of the HHS Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority, also said he raised alarms about the coronavirus – and the need to ramp up production of face masks and other personal protective equipment – with White House officials as far back as January.
Bright says in the report that he resisted widespread use of hydroxychloroquine, which Trump had repeatedly touted, because the claims of its benefit lacked “scientific merit." In his report, Bright said he pushed back against the drug "even though the administration promoted it as a panacea and demanded that New York and New Jersey be 'flooded' with these drugs."
The Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority is designed to aid in securing the nation from chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats, as well as from influenza and diseases, according to HHS. Bright was removed from his role and assigned to a job at the National Institutes of Health last month.
HHS and White House officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The report argues that "HHS political leadership retaliated against Dr. Bright for his objections and resistance to funding potentially dangerous drugs promoted by those with political connections and by the administration itself."
Bright's attorneys argue in the report that tension with HHS leadership dated to non-Covid contracts earlier in the Trump administration. Bright said he resisted efforts to extend a contract with a company whose CEO, he was told, was a friend of Jared Kushner, the president's son-in-law and a senior adviser at the White House.
Bright also claims in the report that he met with White House officials as far back as February 8, 2020, to warn about the coronavirus and that he emphasized the need to "secure N95 masks and to ramp up mask production,” as well as other equipment.
Trump said late last month that he didn't know about Bright or his accusations.
"I have never heard of him," the president said. "I don't know who he is."

Trump fires State Dept. watchdog critical of admin moves
President Donald Trump has fired the State Department’s inspector general, an Obama administration appointee whose office was critical of alleged political bias in the agency’s management. The ouster is the latest in a series of moves against independent executive branch watchdogs who have found fault with the Trump administration.
A senior department official said Trump removed Steve Linick from his job on Friday but gave no reason for his ouster....
Trump has been taking aim lately at inspectors general.
In April, he fired Michael Atkinson, the inspector general for the intelligence community, for his role in the whistleblower complaint that led to Trump’s impeachment.
Then Trump removed Glenn Fine as acting inspector general at the Defense Department, a move that stripped him of his post as chairman of the Pandemic Response Accountability Committee.
During a White House briefing on COVID-19, Trump questioned the independence of an inspector general of the Department of Health and Human Services over a report that said there was a shortage of supplies and testing at hospitals.

GOP's Grassley says Trump's reasoning for IG dismissal 'not sufficient' as Democrats investigate
President Trump's decision to fire State Department Inspector General Steve Linick on Friday came on the advice of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, a White House official said Saturday.
The move immediately drew sharp criticism Democrats who consider the ouster a retaliatory act; Linick was reportedly looking into Pompeo's alleged misuse of a department appointee to perform personal tasks for him and his wife, and it comes on the heels of several other federal watchdog dismissals in recent months.
It wasn't only Democrats who seemed unsatisfied with Trump's decision, though. While the president said he no longer had confidence in Linick, an Obama appointee, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), co-chair of the Whistleblower Protection Caucus, said Saturday that Congress is entitled to a more thorough explanation, noting that inspectors general are "crucial in correcting government failures and promoting the accountability that the American people deserve." He said Trump's reasoning, as it stands, is "simply is not sufficient."
Grassley's Democratic colleagues, Rep. Eliot Engel (D-N.Y.) and Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.), took things a step further. They sent letters to the White House demanding officials hand over all records related to Linick's firing, adding that they plan to "look deeply into this matter."

Re: Trump Administration* - Fired / Quit
The plot thickens. Steve Linick was fired not just to coverup Pompeo’s HR corruption, it was also to coverup PINO’s being beholden to the Saudis.
Fired State Department IG probed Trump’s Saudi arms deals
... New York Rep. Eliot Engel, the chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, tweeted on Monday that Linick’s “office was investigating — at my request — Trump’s phony emergency declaration so he could send Saudi Arabia weapons. We don’t have the full picture yet, but it’s troubling that Sec Pompeo wanted Linick pushed out.”
Trump, in May 2019, declared an emergency under the Arms Export Control Act to bypass Congress and expedite $8.1 billion in weapon sales for Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates. At the time, Pompeo said the sales were needed “to deter further the malign influence of the Government of Iran throughout the Middle East region.”
Lawmakers were delaying the sales over humanitarian concerns, and Democrats pushed back over what they saw as overreach by the executive branch. In June 2019, 26 Democrats asked Linick to investigate the declaration, calling the justification for for it “dubious.”
In the wake of the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi ― who the American intelligence community says was murdered in the Saudi consulate in Turkey under orders by the Saudi kingdom ― Congress passed a series of measures on a bipartisan basis aimed at curbing U.S. support for Riyadh’s involvement in Yemen’s civil war. Trump vetoed the measures and the Senate failed to override....
