So far, so bad.Vrede too wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2020 12:04 pmSweden’s non-lockdown choice, with heavy protection for vulnerable populations, is being discussed a lot. It says that it’s reducing economic and social disruption while getting inevitable deaths out of the way now rather than later, and achieving ‘herd immunity’ sooner. At the moment its body count is far higher than neighboring Norway and Finland.
Hard to say about the rest, but I think their mortality calculus is faulty. It doesn’t allow for improvements in therapies and a possible vaccine. We’ll see.
The World Health Organization said lessons could be learned from Sweden — now its daily deaths are soaring
Sweden was seen as a model for countries tackling coronavirus without economic disruption

I like wearing a mask. Haven't had to trim my nose hairs for months.

I wonder if bank robbers are having more business lately since a lot of folks wear a mask?

I dunno about bank robbers - I think most of them have been laid off since most banks have been closed for inside business. Kinda hard to rob a bank from the drive-through, although I've read it has been tried.neoplacebo wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 11:01 amI wonder if bank robbers are having more business lately since a lot of folks wear a mask?
But I did see an article about real concern by the people in convenience stores and take-out food places that if many people were wearing masks that it would be much easier to get robbed. And witnesses wouldn't be much help - "it was either a male or large female with a mask over its face."
Gotta say, it does still look a little strange to see some guy in a western style hat going into a building wearing a bandanna over his face. Stick 'em up.

Re: Social Distancing 1A
I've been laughing at the states that have banned masks in response to Antifa. Opps.
The Latino Pentecostal church outside my home office window is holding services again. They are doing temperature checks before entry and are requiring/providing masks. Idk about social distancing inside, and I haven't heard any singing.

Re: Social Distancing 1A
My bank has been closed for nearly two months other than the drive thru. Got an email from them the other day that they are now open but customers must wear a mask; the bank even commented that it was strange for a bank to make such a request but that customers have to show identification before they come in to prove they are a customer. I guess this is my chance......O Really wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 11:18 amI dunno about bank robbers - I think most of them have been laid off since most banks have been closed for inside business. Horizon Bank, Pensacola - about 1989. The robber pulled up to the locked stand alone drive thru structure and showed his gun to the teller through the bullet proof glass. She turned over all the cash and he drove away.
