The car thread ...

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

One of Myrtle Beach’s largest car and truck shows will be postponed after the city declared a state of emergency Sunday due to several cases of coronavirus in Horry County.

The 32nd annual Run to the Sun hosted by the Pee Dee Street Rodders is postponed to a later date, according to a post from the City of Myrtle Beach. The show was previously scheduled for March 19-21.

An alliterative lineup. Here's hoping you have no Honda, Hyundai, or Hamberder to foul up those other "H" things.

The EPA Plymouth Superbird

Muscle cars and jet airplanes have a long intermingled history. The pilot parking lots of U.S. Air Force bases in the ’60s were notably packed with GTOs, Road Runners, Cobra Jets, 442s, Stage 1s, Charger R/Ts and, of course, the darling of NASA test pilots like Chuck Yeager, the 427 Corvette. It’s still like that today, with sky pilots generally driving to and from stations aboard quicker, faster machinery than mere earthbound mortals. Beyond that, there are many recorded instances where these land-based missiles assisted their airborne brethren on the actual tarmac runway.

That’s the story of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Superbird. Founded in 1970, the Environmental Protection Agency was charged with studying and regulating man-made sources of pollution. Concerned that the ever-growing volume of passenger travel by jet aircraft was contributing to several forms of pollution, a program was devised to study the direct, on-site impact of airliner exhaust fumes and the dust generated as their brakes and tires wore during service.

Except that it probably didn't happen.

You have lied about so many of the links that you post - what's the point in watching them.

And then there's the fact that you refuse to answer questions or add anything to any debate. You, like all cops, are a worthless drag on society.

The video, filmed by Justine Miller and Keith Feldman, shows a group of men in masks hopping out of two cars and charging through a smashed door in Soho before running back outside carrying boxes of goods on Monday night.

“Looters are literally pulling up in nice cars and cleaning out stores in #Soho. What #Curfew?” Feldman wrote on Twitter.

One of the men can be heard shouting, “Come on, come on!” before the apparent thieves jump back in their luxury rides and drive away.

“That’s a $500,000 Rolls Royce on the right, incredible,” one observer wrote on Twitter.

Another identified the car as a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, which they claim “starts north of $300k.”

It was probably Brad Parscale (trump's campaign manager) and some of his blabbering loons that did this. Brad has become rich off trump and the gullible fools who support him. Brad has a Ferrari and a yacht. But you can't get much loot into a Ferrari. I would have taken the Rolls as well.

I'll bet if CAT gets more bored, he can come up with a long list of unrelated, irrelevant, opportunity crimes that were committed during the time people were protesting against police killing helpless citizens. (yeah, I'd say a guy lying prostrate on the concrete, against a car tire, handcuffed behind, and three or so guys with guns, batons, and tasers holding him down would be "helpless.")

I'll bet he can find instances where homes of protesters were broken into while they were away. Probably a lot of domestic violence calls during the time period. I know there was a domestic child abduction out of Coeur D' Alene during that time. Damn protesters. Robberies, burglaries, auto theft, public drunkeness, indecent exposure, rape, murder, aggravated assault... I'll bet CAT could spend some time finding everything illegal that happened during the protests and proclaim if it weren't for all those antifa trouble-makers out in the street none of it would have happened. Then, just stop all the protests and all crime goes away. Yay.

I explained this to you once before, but I suppose it's just one more thing you'll never understand. During these times of civil unrest, there are people who will take advantage of circumstances to commit crimes, thinking that the confusion and police presence at known locations will facilitate their criminal activity in some other location. These people do this during normal times as well. They just see this current situation as an opportunity that doesn't come around often. This is not hard to understand for a normal person. And that, little cultist, is why you don't understand it. I venture to say the "luxury rides" were also stolen.

Also, it's really stupid of 1 FAT CAN to blame the protestors rather than the murdering cop that caused the civil unrest, or the brutal, lawbreaking cops that exacerbated it.

You fucking idiot; the response is to YOUR post. Just one more thing that's over your little pin head and one more thing you'll never understand. Why don't you go out and see if you can find a sign that says "fucking idiots assemble here." I bet you'll find a lot of your friends and members of your family. None of them will understand what's going on or why they're there, either. You'll feel right at home, and after a while of not knowing what's going on, you will be able to squawk about being a victim once again.

So for the past two weeks, some people have showed up in most every major city in the US, and some smaller ones, with the stated purpose of legally protesting police behaviour. Some people also took advantage of the crowds and committed some crimes - some looting probably for themselves, some probably to bring criticism on the protesters. That happened. But the two groups of people aren't the same. Maybe somebody like CAT who is obviously more interested in the looters than the protesters could tell us how many people participated in the protests nationwide, and of those, how many looted or committed crimes. Stated as a number per 1,000 would be good, unless of course that number would be too small in which case the number per 10,000 would be fine. I'll wait.
