What are you watching?

Generally an unmoderated forum for discussion of pretty much any topic. The focus however, is usually politics.

Ah, well, I just thought that since throughout my life I've been advised by authority figures including parental, military, and civilian that "you better watch your ass" that now that I'm retired and have so much free time, I decided to follow that advice. So far I don't see anything unusual. Plus, I figured this talk about ass will prod the cat fan to make some stupid irrelevant cultist comment. I can hardly wait.

It's excellent advice. I just meant that it's easier when "your ass" is your spouse.

Yes, very much so, but that one is in the rear view mirror. :D

Solstice Sunrise at Stonehenge
10:30p or so Eastern; 7:30p Pacific
If you miss it, they'll have it available later, but it wouldn't be quite the same as seeing live.

It was a bit of a bust. Clouds/rain. No sunrise. Basically watching a pile of rocks. :(

Nope. No sunset either. At least there was no droning voice over, "we're still waiting for a weather report from BBC to see if this cloud cover will pass. It reminds me of the sunrise 4 years ago when ... "Oh yes, John - that was a good one, but overall, there have been clouds a high percent of the time." "Are you forgetting that we're in southern England?" "Ah, here's the latest - more clouds will remain, but we're not cancelling yet..."

Early 1980s winter eclipse - all of my hippie friends back home and their elaborate ceremonies got screwed by clouds. :(

Out on the Great Plains my workover rig crewmates and I paused and were awestruck by the sight on a crystal clear day. 8-) Funny how nature worked for my circle.

It's monthly ala Netflix or Hulu.

They were offering a free trial, not sure if that's still the case.

I think that it's $6.99/month. I'm still in my 12 months free for having a Verizon phone.

Ghere is probably a free trial period, but I imagine that most will keep it after seeing the programming

Hamilton was amazing. Every scene, every actor, every minute, every camera angle was unlike anything I've ever seen on tv. (Thomas Jefferson is a hoot)
If you don't want to subscribe, go to a friend's house, a bar, a daycare center, wherever, just go see it and enjoy. I'll watch it again.
And I don't like musicals.

Back on the Watching thread.

I'm actually watching the In Depth interview with the actors.

And BTW - Thomas Jefferson is a hell of a dancer and if Pense hadn't needed his photo op walk out, it wouldn't have taken but a couple of minutes to forget the skin color controversy.

Finished watching the tenth of ten episodes of Band of Brothers last night. Overall, it was very good. The live interviews with a few of the survivors were also illuminating.

It emphasized to me what a brutal war at a brutal time in this world....
I was impressed by it, too.

Band of Brothers was so gripping and well done. 10/10.

The Pacific did not grab me as much and had a lot of shock gore.
