Trump says niece set to publish book had signed a nondisclosure agreement
President Donald Trump said that his niece, who is set to publish a tell-all book about him and his family, had signed a nondisclosure agreement and is "not allowed to write a book."
Mary Trump, the President's niece and the daughter of his late older brother, Fred Trump Jr., has penned a book described as a "revelatory, authoritative portrait of Donald J. Trump and the toxic family that made him." The book is set to be released on July 28, according to the book's publisher Simon & Schuster.
"She's not allowed to write a book," Trump told Axios in an interview Friday. "You know, when we settled with her and her brother, who I do have a good relationship with — she's got a brother, Fred, who I do have a good relationship with, but when we settled, she has a total ... signed a nondisclosure."
He's got a good relationship with his niece and family, yet he got her to sign an NDA.

Trump seems to be under the illusion (I guess I could stop there) that a non-disclosure agreement prevents a person from speaking about anything at all related to him. That's not the way it works. If it's overly broad, for example, it won't be enforceable. If it covers a felony, it's not enforceable. If it covers information protected by whistleblower law, it's not enforceable. The ones that withstand challenge are specific, narrowly written, and regarding information that clearly is justifiably confidential.

I think you missed one element. They work for us, not PINO. My guess is that the NDAs would be immediately ruled illegal before enforcement even came up. Of course, this does not include the standard govt NDAs for classified material for those with security clearances.

I don't know if he really told "his people" to back off testing, but it doesn't matter as much as he'd like to think since most of that is state level. I suppose he could hijack testing materials, and I suppose he would get some ass-suckers like DeSantis to go along since DeSantis already tried to artificially suppress the numbers. DeSantis admitted over the weekend that the FL spike is not due to increased testing. Not sure if that's praiseworthy or merely him surrendering to reality.
If I'm not mistaken, the percentage of positive tests is appreciably higher in the increased testing as well as hospitalization rates.
Not the type of great news needed to reopen the country.
TV news: 17 states including FL are seeing increased hospitalizations. I'm not singling FL out. The report was mostly about FL and it was the only state named. NC may be one of the 17 afaik.
