You can add these custom rules to the ublock origin extension under "My Filters" to clean up some of the boards.net annoyances like the bottom and top ad areas. The rules should work for adblock too, but it's not what I use.

I'll create some detailed instructions with screenshots tomorrow. Eh... (maybe).

Basically, go to addons, find ublock origin -> Options -> My Filters will be among the options at the top menu.
