It actually wouldn't take that many idiotic Americans to wise up in order to make a big difference. Fifteen, to be specific. That would be the governors in states that currently don't have a statewide mask requirement. And then a bit of spine reinforcement in the 35 that do have requirements now. And then the remaining CEOs of any major retailers who haven't yet begun to require masks in their stores, employees and customers. It wouldn't matter much if a person didn't want to wear a mask, or thought their "rights" were infringed or whatever because they wouldn't be getting into any stores or venues without one. Some would howl, but essentially all would eventually comply. You don't have to change the attitude, if you change the behaviour the attitude will follow.
